Manchester United look as though they will be taking a frugal approach to the upcoming winter transfer window.
But that won't stop them from ensuring they can bank as much as possible from outgoings at Old Trafford.
According to Football Insider, Man Utd are expecting to make upwards of £80m in the January window from players leaving the club.
With FFP concerns at the club there have bee reports of a number of players being up for sale including Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane, Casemiro and Anthony Martial.
RB Leipzig are reportedly interested in signing Jadon Sancho from Manchester United.
The 23-year-old has been exiled from the United squad in September following a public war-of-words with manager Erik ten Hag.
The club are understood to be keen to offload him in January with ten Hag steadfast on his plans to keep him away from the team.
And according to German outlet BILD, RB Leipzig are interested.
Despite Man Utd being willing to let Sancho leave for a fraction of the £73million fee they paid for him in 2021, his £350,000-a-week wages are understood to be a problem for RB Leipzig.
Manchester United have found themselves going from crisis to crisis this season as they try and re-track their off the rails campaign.
And Sky Sports have revealed that the Red Devils are now looking to move to a more "culture-focused" approach at the club.
It is reported that the Manchester giants have noted the success Arsenal have had with their no-nonsense approach to cutting ties with players.
Man Utd are said to be hoping that taking a similar approach will allow them to replicate the Gunners' success under the management of Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar.
Christian Eriksen is back in training for injury-hit Manchester United.
Eriksen was pictured at Carrington this week in a welcome boost for a side struck by absences.
The 31-year-old midfielder has been sidelined with a knee issue picked up five weeks ago during the first half of the Red Devils’ 1-0 win against Luton.
Erik ten Hag has been gushing about youngster Kobbie Mainoo.
The 18-year-old has broken through into the Red Devils' first team this season making five appearances in the Premier League and Champions League.
And his manager has been pull of praise about his ability and what he can do for the side.
When you are good enough, you are old enough and he proved that. When he gets used more often in those games, he will get even more joy from it.
With his skill, with his speed of action he can get such passes, three or four passes in and get switches in and then he's the player who can really hurt opponents.
Man Utd are eyeing up former Real Madrid wonderkid Takefusa Kubo as a replacement for winger Antony.
Antony, 22, joined Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford in the summer of 2022 for a huge £85.5million.
But he has been bitterly disappointing for the Red Devils, scoring just eight goals and providing three assists in 62 appearances.
He is yet to register a single goal contribution in 18 games so far this season.
And Ten Hag is already seeking a potential replacement for the ex-Ajax man – with Man Utd having sent scouts to watch Kubo on at least SEVEN occasions this season.
Micah Richards has claimed it would be difficult for Roy Keane to return to football management.
The Manchester United legend recently emerged as a contender for the Republic of Ireland national team job following the departure of Stephen Kenny.
However, Sky Sports pundit Richards - who has a blossoming relationship with Keane on TV - suggested it could be difficult for the 52-year-old to step back into management.
Speaking on The Rest Is Football podcast with Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker, the ex-Manchester City star was asked for his insight on the Keane links to the Ireland gig.
Richards said: "You know what, I think Roy obviously would be a great fit but he's so good at punditry or so well-liked - people like his punditry, I love his punditry, some people don't like his punditry - but he's so well-liked within the media [that] I don't understand why he would take a job.
"It's like you Al (Shearer), he's not had a job for ten years. I would be very difficult now to just go in a changing room and think things are going to be the same now to ten years ago."
Julen Lopetegui has revealed he is holding out for a managerial job in England.
He confessed the desire in an interview with Sky Sports, in which he called English football culture "special" and also admitted he had already turned down jobs from overseas.
He said: "It’s why I’ve said no to different countries and different situations because I would like to stay here in England. I feel like our team here is just starting and we want to achieve our dreams.
"The way the country lives football here is special – it’s the best league in the world, the most competitive league in the world, the best environment for the players, coaches and fans too.
"I have fought for titles, I have fought for different aims but of course for the most important thing to feel like you have a project you can put your stamp on it, where you can work and improve the performance of the whole club.
"If you ask me, I’d like this kind of challenge and to be able to achieve each aim the club has.
"I have to be ready. When you accept a challenge, it’s not just about the players and the way you want to play... I think you have to understand where you are, what’s the culture of the club and the history too."
Reports last week claimed Lopetegui was "well placed" to replace Erik ten Hag as the boss of Manchester United.
Man Utd are unlikely to keep Sofyan Amrabat at the end of the season, SunSport has learned.
Erik Ten Hag is “already planning” for the player to return to Italy in the Summer.
Sources at Old Trafford say there is widespread concern that Amrabat isn’t suited to the Premier League.
An insider said: "Amrabat is very unlikely to stay at Manchester United after the Summer. They have an option to make the deal a permanent one, but as things stand the manager is not making plans to do that.
"There’s no doubt that Amrabat is a good player, but there are question marks against whether he is the right fit for the Premier League.
"He did very well in Italy but the pace of the game is very different and this is an area where he has struggled since arriving at United.
"There may well be interest from other clubs in Europe but as things stand he won’t be staying at United."
Christian Eriksen is back in training for injury-hit Manchester United.
Eriksen was pictured at Carrington on Monday - the day after United fought for a 0-0 draw at Liverpool - which will be a welcome boost for a side struck by absences.
The midfielder, 31, has been sidelined with a knee issue picked up five weeks ago during the first half of the Red Devils’ 1-0 win against Luton.
Phil Thompson has told Roy Keane to "get a life" after the Manchester United icon called Virgil van Dijk "arrogant".
Thompson is amazed outspoken Keano had the cheek to criticise someone else for dishing out strong opinions.
And the ex-England defender believes the pundit simply misunderstood Van Dijk's verdict on Liverpool's 0-0 home draw with United.
Keane said: "That's arrogance. That's arrogant. He said Man Utd were buzzing, only one team came to play."
But Thompson told talkSPORT: "I don't think he (Van Dijk) was arrogant, he was just giving his opinion - as Roy gives his opinion, as Gary (Neville) gives his opinion.
'It wasn't arrogant by any means. I would say it was more frustration. I really feel as though you’ve come off that game, you know you’ve dominated, Manchester United have had that one chance with [Rasmus] Hojlund, and you’ve just felt frustration. Arrogance wasn’t in it."
Thompson, 69, who won seven top-flight titles in 13 years at Liverpool, added: "For Roy Keane to be talking about arrogance in people - come on, do me a favour. I love Roy but I played that back and he just kept repeating the word. Roy, just get a life."
