Man Utd takeover news LIVE: Sancho missed several training sessions EXCLUSIVE, Ratcliffe’s top team visit Old Trafford

  • Sancho misses training several times but hasn’t been fined

Jadon Sancho has missed a number of training sessions since being exiled from Manchester United’s first team.

The England winger, 23, is yet to be involved with the squad after his public spat with manager Erik ten Hag following their  3-1 defeat at Arsenal on September 3.

Ahead of Saturday's game with Bournemouth at Old Trafford, Ten Hag reiterated the ball is in Sancho’s court if the matter is to be resolved.

He explained: “So it is about a culture and every player has to match certain standards and it was about that.

“What will happen there? He knows what he has to do if he wants to return. It is up to him.”

Sancho has been forced to train at the academy section of the club’s training ground, with his food brought separately from the first-team canteen.

Having been accused of showing a poor attitude in training, Sancho posted: “I will not allow people saying things that is completely untrue, I have conducted myself in training very well this week.

“I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won’t go into and I have been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair!”

  • Shaw denies Instagram like

Luke Shaw has issued a response after he “liked” a post on social media suggesting Manchester United team-mates Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial will struggle to get back into the team.

Shaw appeared to have liked a post on Twitter quoting Patrice Evra saying it “will be tough” for the pair to return to the starting XI.

Shaw swiftly responded to one user who picked up the “like”.

He said: “Come on don’t be silly, obviously not intentional🤦🏼‍♂️.”

  • Man Utd prepare January clearout

Manchester United are reportedly plotting a huge clearout with Casemiro, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane up for sale.

However, Erik ten Hag has made a huge U-turn regarding two other players at the club.

The Independent has claimed that Ten Hag is “willing to listen to offers on a series of high-profile players”.

And they claim that 31-year-old Brazilian midfielder Casemiro, a £70m signing from Real Madrid 18 months ago, Sancho and defender Varane, who we exclusively revealed was being put up for sale, can all go.

But Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay, who were tipped to leave in the summer, are now expected to stay.

  • Sheikh Jassim eyes Inter bid

Manchester United bidder Sheikh Jassim has turned his attention to Inter Milan.

It’s claimed that current Inter owner Stevan Zhang is in China battling lawsuits and debt repayments of up to £340m owed to American firm Oaktree.

The report adds that Sheikh Jassim is set to enter talks about a potential investment in the Serie A giants.

There is also said to be interest from Saudi Arabia, although Inter have denied the prospect of fresh Middle Eastern funding.

  • United ‘scared to sell Martial’

Gary Neville believes that Manchester United have been simply ‘frightened to death’ of seeing Anthony Martial unlock his potential elsewhere.

The pundit said: “They were frightened to death of him going somewhere and doing something

"They were frightened to death because he’s just got that little bit of talent.

"Every manager has had the same problem with him – they’ve all been like ‘is he gonna come and hurt us?’ That’s when you just… argh."

  • Ten Hag on awards

Erik ten Hag has suggested that the awards himself, Alejandro Garnacho and Harry Maguire have received can inspire the team on.

He told club media: "I think that winning these three awards refers to something we are doing as a team.

    "That's very good.

"It is something we can take belief from.

"We can also take inspiration from it, and believe that we are heading in the right direction.

"That must now give energy to everyone."

  • Watkins would ‘elevate’ United

Sky Sports pundit Don Goodman has said that Ollie Watkins would “elevate” Manchester United’s attack.

Speaking to Boyle Sports, Goodman said: “I don’t think Ollie Watkins would go to either Man City or Liverpool. I think Darwin Nunez will be sensational. It’s only a matter of time before the chances he’s missing start flying in the back of the net and we’ll be saying it was worth the wait.

“I’m not sure if Watkins is an Arsenal type. There’s one club I think he’d elevate instantly and that’s Man United. But for me, take away the name and history of Man United and they’re a mid-table team. Aston Villa are a better team. I haven’t seen anything this season that suggests Man United aren’t a mid-table team.

“Watkins would definitely improve Man United, but I’d argue he’s best off staying at Aston Villa for the next couple of years.”

  • United shouldn’t sign Werner – Louis Saha

Former Manchester United star Louis Saha has pleaded with his former club not to sign Timo Werner.

He told BetFred: “Manchester United needs players that have stability, confidence, and strong, powerful qualities. Timo possesses most of them. However, Timo didn’t look confident in the Premier League during his time at Chelsea and Manchester United need players that can express themselves with a smile on their face.

“If he can’t do that, then I’m not sure whether it’s a move they should pursue.

“The team is already struggling with players that are lacking confidence, so I wouldn’t want them to add another struggling player to their roster.

“There are enough players without the right confidence level and if Timo came in already lacking self-belief, then people may start to look at him and guess whether he’s fatigued or not the right fit for the tactics, when it’s really just a case of him lacking confidence.”

  • Diallo is back

Manchester United winger Amad Diallo is back in full training following knee surgery in the summer.

The winger had a hugely impressive spell on loan at Sunderland last season.

“The second game against them, I think to win in this kind of scenery, you always remember these kinds of games.

“We have the chance tomorrow, again. Last season even, we played a friendly with Rayo Vallecano against (Manchester United).

“But even if it’s a friendly you don't want to lose.

“You want to compete. You want to do things well.

“Tomorrow there are points involved and we still need points, because even if we are doing very well, our start of the season has been very bad.

  • Billing 'excited' for United test

Bournemouth star Phillip Billing has admitted that the team will have to be on their "a-game" in order to get a result against Man United.

I think everybody's looking forward to Old Trafford away.

Even though people are not in the best form at the minute and there's a lot of negativity around the club, but you can take away it's still Manchester United, it's still Old Trafford and it's still top players we come up against.

So we're gonna have to be on our A-game again, and hopefully we can grind out the result because the confidence in the boys is high.
