‘Can’t complain at that!’ people say after shopper reveals he nabbed huge food haul from little-known online shop for £5

WITH the cost-of-living crisis affecting households up and down the country, homeowners are trying to cut back on costs wherever they can.

And, if you're trying to slash your weekly food bill, then you may just want to take note...because one savvy shopper revealed the clever way he got a massive food haul for the reduced price of just £5.

Mark Smith took to money-saving Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK and shared a snap of his recent food order.

"Wow, all this for £5 from Discount Dragon via the Too Good To Go app!" he penned.

Amongst the goodies which were spread across his kitchen worktop included an Old El Paso Nacho kit, onion rings, Wotsits, bar of Galaxy, Chilli Sensations, tomato passata and Ben's Original rice.

There was also a can of Monster, a bottle of lemon squash, Diet Coke, three packets of crackets and some Hummus chips.

The post quickly racked up several likes and comments, with many very impressed with the reduced-price items.

"How did you get them on there?" asked one intrigued shopper.

Mark helpfully replied: "It's listed as Discount Dragon Leigh in the app. Sometimes its a £5 box like this 1 &other times its a £10 box."

A second commented: "Can't complain at that!"

A third simply enthused: "Wow!"

Meanwhile, a fourth noted: "I use discount dragon online site for general food cupboard items.free delivery on orders over £25 and they often have special deals including 1p offers.worth a look !!"

The Too Good To Go app is designed to try and reduce the huge amount of food that's chucked away by supermarkets because the date is about to expire.

Various stores - including the like of Aldi, Morrisons, Greggs, Starbucks, Costa, Cafe Nero and Subway - all signed up to sell the boxes comprised of almost out of date food at a hugely reduced price.

However, you'll need to be quick because there's a select few boxes available each day.

While the food is all close to expiry, you can often freeze lots of it or cook something up so that it'll last you a few days going forward.

Meanwhile, Discount Dragon, which has racked up over 20,000 five-star reviews on TrustPilot, has been sending shoppers into a frenzy in recent weeks.
