I didn’t want to fork out on a house so turned a shed into a tiny home for £4.7K – people say they’re ‘blown away’ by it
WITH the cost-of-living crisis affecting households everywhere, it's little surprise people are trying to save money wherever they can.
And one woman has done exactly that...by moving into her own tiny home that she built herself from scratch.
The savvy DIY whizz named Viola explained how she bought an old RV trailer for £392 ($500), which is 10 x 24 in size and 240 square foot, based in Florida.
She's since given social media followers a glimpse into her impressive handiwork, and shared a very insightful breakdown of costs - and it's little wonder people are 'blown away' by her efforts.
In the clip shared to TikTok (@violas_akzent_ranch), she reveals that she forked out £163 ($208) on insulation, £161 ($206) on windows, £523 ($667) on roofing and £193 ($246) for the flooring.
Meanwhile, the electric set her back £165 ($211), while the plumbing cost £204 ($260).

She goes on to say how the bathroom cost a rough estimate of £178 ($227) for everything including the bathroom sink, toilet and faucet, while the kitchen came to around £314 ($400).
At the end of the video, she shares a total build cost which comes to £4,770 ($6073) - with all tools included.
Viola captioned the post: "Cost of independence and experience: invaluable."
It wasn't long before the post went viral, garnering a whopping 1.2m views and hundreds of comments from complementary social media users.
