Efforts to deliver medical supplies and fuel to Gazan hospitals have been increasingly constrained by hungry people stopping convoys in search of food, the World Health Organization said. “The safety of our staff and continuity of operations depends on more food arriving in all of Gaza, immediately,” Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said. Heavy bombardment and ground fighting continued across the Strip on Wednesday, the U.N. humanitarian affairs office said, including hostilities in the four long-standing refugee camps in central Gaza where Israeli forces had a day earlier warned they were expanding operations.

Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen said Hasan Nasrallah, leader of Lebanon-based militant group Hezbollah, “must understand that he’s next” if Hezbollah continues its attacks at the Lebanon-Israel border, where exchanges of projectiles have escalated since Oct. 7. At least 300 Palestinians have died in the West Bank, including 79 children, the U.N. humanitarian affairs office said Wednesday; 292 were killed by Israeli forces, eight by Israeli settlers and two either by forces or settlers, the U.N. office said. Three Israeli service members and one civilian have been killed in the West Bank since Oct. 7, it said.
