  • Mourinho wants Roma stay

Jose Mourinho wants to stay as Roma manager despite reports suggesting that he will leave the Serie A side at the end of the season.

He said: "I want to continue at Roma.

"And if I stay at Roma we've got to really think hard about the financial fair play limitations we have, because maybe it's better to work with younger players and give them some chances.

"That could present an opportunity for development, compared to players who have nothing left to develop.

"I want to continue and I'm open to a new approach."

  • Chelsea eye Italian talent

Chelsea are tracking the highly rated Torino and Italy defender Alessandro Buongiorno.

Buongiorno has been one of the best defenders in Serie A this season and is attracting interest from across Europe.

The Blues’ scouting department have been tracking his games in recent weeks, and plan to continue watching him play over the festive period.

Buongiorno has started in 14 games since the beginning of the season - 12 in Serie A and two in the Italian Cup, registering two goals and making one assist.

The defender is also attracting interest from Juventus, Inter Milan and Roma, with Jose Mourinho publicly praising him two weeks ago.

Torino have already received an offer from one of Italy's big teams two weeks ago of £21.5million but rejected it in the belief they could get more from a Prem side.

  • Tottenham's transfer plans

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has opened up about Spurs' transfer plans.

"All of those things are in place," he said of potential deals ahead of the January transfer window.

"We don't have daily meetings because that's their department. Johan's [Lange] got his department and he talks with Daniel [Levy] and all of the other key personnel, and I'll get in the loop when you get the significant moments of potentially some progress in certain areas."

  • Napoli eye Chelsea star

Serie A giants Napoli could make a move for Chelsea youngster Ian Matsen, according to reports.

The Dutch full back was a revelation at Burnley last season on loan.

However, he has appeared just twice for the Blues this season.

Italian reports say the reigning Serie A champions have approached Chelsea about a potential deal.

  • Neymar mistake

Luis Suarez has revealed he believes Neymar made a mistake leaving Barcelona for PSG.

The Uruguay legend told Clank!: “We were very good friends, and we knew if we fulfilled our roles on the pitch, we would make Barcelona great. If one of us did not play well, the other two would make the difference. It was a spectacular relationship.

"We told him it was a mistake to go to PSG. If Ney wanted to be the best, he had to stay by Leo’s side.

"But, he made his decision, and it left a void in the team."

  • Mourinho wants Roma stay

Jose Mourinho has revealed he wants to stay at Roma, despite a 2-0 loss to Bologna putting him under pressure.

"I will tell you something I have not yet said, because I did not want to say it. I want to continue at Roma. I want to continue here.

"If I continue at Roma, we need to really think about what we can do with the FFP limitations."

  • Yildiz set for Juve stay

Kenan Yildiz has been linked with a move away from Juventus.

A £34million move to the Premier League was previously touted.

  • Kudos blow

David Moyes has revealed  Mohammed Kudus will be a huge loss when he heads to the African Cup of Nations in January with Ghana.

He said: "A really good boy to work with and obviously his goals and assists are really the things that are standing out.

“It is a huge blow (to lose him) because he scores goals and makes goals. We’re going to have to find other ways. I have to say, we will hugely miss him.”

  • Gnonto offers

Leeds United are willing to listen to offers for Wilfried Gnonto, according to reports.

The Italian winger has fallen out of favour at Elland Road.

And now it has been suggested boss Daniel Farke will listen to offers for the talent.

Everton were linked with a move for the wideman in the summer.

  • Leicester want to keep Cannon

Leicester plan to keep striker Tom Cannon despite a handful of clubs wanting him on loan.

Cannon, 20, has struggled to make an impact since his big-money move from Everton after a back injury emerged.

But Foxes' boss Enzo Maresca still believes the "top player" can justify his £7.5million summer arrival on a five-year contract.

Luton and Sunderland were said to be keen on the Republic of Ireland Under-21 star last summer.

That followed his encouraging season on loan at Preston last term.

Cannon scored eight goals in 20 matches for the Championship side.

  • Liverpool boost

Liverpool have been reportedly handed a boost in their efforts to sign Piero Hincapie.

The Bayer Leverkusen is reportedly unhappy at being relegated to the subs bench.

He has a £60million release clause in his contract.

And the Reds could trigger a move in January.

  • Juve plot Phillips move

The England midfielder has found first team football hard to come by at the Etihad.

  • Real set Alaba price

Real Madrid have set a price tag on David Alaba.

Los Blancos would demand £51.5million for the Austrian, should he leave the club.

Man Utd and Juventus are said to be interested.

He reportedly has a £21.5million release clause in his contract.

  • Barcelona chase wonderkid

Barcelona are looking into signing Swedish wonderkid Lucas Bergvall, according to his club Djugardens.

The 17-year-old was signed  from Brommapojkarna for just €900,000 last January.

But now has cemented himself as a first team regular.

Sporting director Bo Andersson has since revealed the Catalans interest.

"Yes, I can confirm that we've been in contact and in dialogue with Barcelona," he told Swedish outlet Fotbollskanalen.

"But it's not a negotiation yet. There was some contact with Barcelona last week but this week we haven't spoken to them."

  • Carvalho return

Fabio Carvalho is reportedly considering a return to Fulham - but only if Liverpool can recall him from RB Leipzig.

The Portuguese winger is currently struggling to get games in the Bundesliga.

  • Deal not Kyl-ed yet

The Saudi Pro League will make another ambitious attempt to sign Kylian Mbappe again next year.

The PSG forward was linked with a world-record transfer last summer but stayed put in Ligue 1 and remains a top target for Real Madrid.

But the Saudi Pro League director of football Michael Emenalo insists there is an "open conversation" ongoing with Mbappe.

Emenalo said: "With Mbappe the conversation is open, but we don't know what he wants to do. Our position is very clear: any of this type of players knows where we are.

"If there is any possibility or interest that Mbappé is part of what we are building, now or in the future, we cannot reject that possibility. He is a player that I love."

Ivan Toney is said to be "really excited about joining Arsenal" in January, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Arsenal are leading the race to snap him up - with Chelsea and Tottenham also interested.

But journalist Romano says the England man wants to go to the Emirates.

  • Utd boost in Dan hunt

Newcastle have put Bournemouth’s transfer chief Richard Hughes on top of their hitlist, SunSport can exclusively reveal.

The Toon are braced for a call that will take their sporting director Dan Ashworth to Manchester United once the protracted buy-in by Sir Jim Ratcliffe takes place.

Ashworth, 52, is first choice for the football supremo role should Ratcliffe and sidekick Sir Dave Brailsford finally take 25 per cent of Old Trafford.

The Red Devils could offer Ashworth a role that could convince him to quit Newcastle barely a year after joining.

Newcastle can place Ashworth on gardening leave for an extended period of time — as Brighton did when they lost him — but they would need a top replacement.

And Cherries technical director Hughes’ name is on the lips of many on Tyneside.

  • Zag for Ag

West Ham are checking on Stuttgart’s French defender Dan-Axel Zagadou — and could move out Nayef Aguerd.

Hammers manager David Moyes has sent his spies to look at the 6ft 6in centre-half in case Aguerd leaves in the January window.

The Moroccan is finding the physical side of the Premier League difficult — but Moyes has faith in the 27-year-old.

Lyon are keen on a loan-to-buy deal and that would happen if Moyes found a replacement in time.

Zagadou, 24, was on the West Ham watchlist a year ago when he was with Borussia Dortmund.

West Ham have also put Montpellier striker Akor Adams on their transfer shortlist.

  • Bournemouth vs Luton to be replayed

Just breaking away from transfer news for a moment to tell you that the Premier League game between Bournemouth and Luton is set to be replayed in full.

Yesterday's match was abandoned with the score 1-1 in the 59th minute after Hatters skipper Tom Lockyer collapsed and suffered a cardiac arrest.

Premier League Rule L15 states any match abandoned with the consent of the referee will be replayed, with the Board to confirm a date and kick-off time.

And according to the Daily Mail, the top flight is expected to stick to this protocol.

The Premier League Board does have the power to order an incomplete match to be replayed in full or in part or allow the result at the time of the abandonment to stand.
