‘I hope this is a joke’ people say as healthcare worker reveals the strangest names & says the last should be illegal
EVERY parent wants to choose a name that reflects their child's personality and have a special meaning to them.
While we understand parents' want a unique moniker - sometimes trying to stand out from the crowd can be taken to far.
And one hospital worker from Australia has revealed some of the disastrous names she has heard on the ward.
The healthcare pro admitted that one of her "favourite" things to do with her colleagues is to discuss the "wild" names they come across from patients and their babies.
She revealed: "We had a young girl who we came across - I thought her name was pronounced Lea because it was Le-a."
Thinking she had nailed the pronunciation, she was shocked when the parents corrected her.

"You actually pronounce the hyphen as a dash, so it was Ledasha," the healthcare worker revealed.
Recently she was called over by a doctor who asked how to pronounce a name while in the emergency room.
The name, spelt Cviiilyn, seemed simple with her guessing it was pronounced as 'Civilian'.
She recalled: "I looked and I was like, 'Oh, that's easy, I really feel like that would be pronounced Civilian'."
"So he goes out into the waiting room and he's like 'Civilian, civilian'... nothing. After a while, this girl stands up and says, 'That's me and I think you mean Caitlin'."
They thought it was hysterical while they were explaining it to me.

The unimpressed mum explained that the viiii was pronounced like the roman numeral - eight, so her daughters name was C-eight-lyn.
As if those names weren't bad enough, the healthcare worker saved the worst moniker for last.
She revealed it was the 'wildest' name she has ever come across while on shift and stopped her in her tracks.
"I don't even know how they were allowed to register this. It was Shi-thead. And it was pronounced She-the-eed," she claimed.
"But they had essentially named their child S**thead. And they thought it was hysterical while they were explaining it to me."
The clip posted to her TikTok account @tasmaniateaparty has since gone viral with over 2million views and 700k likes.
People were quick to share their own stories in the comments and many were stunned by the bizarre monikers.
One person wrote: "This has to be a joke... Please don't tell me these are real names."
Another commented: "Why do people go through all the effort of having children then ruin the children’s lives."
"Parents setting their kids up for a lifetime of spelling and pronouncing their names. great job parents," penned a third.
Meanwhile a fourth said: "So I’m pregnant with baby number 2 & I'm trying to think of a name that can grow with the child, parents need to realize they aren’t just naming a child they are naming an adult."
"I’m appalled,” claimed a fifth.
