12 things you should NEVER do if you want a nice-smelling house – and you’ll need to sort out your fridge for starters

A WOMAN has revealed the 12 things you should never do if you want a nice-smelling home.

Nerkesha, who lives in Cheshire, explained that if you want a home that smells fresh, you must never let your bin overflow and you must always make sure to clean out your fridge.

Not only this, but she explained that people with nice-smelling houses would never forget to clean their cat’s litter tray and would also make sure to change their kitchen towels and cloths regularly.

The interior fan and cleaning whizz took to social media to share her claims, as she wrote: “The TRUTH about people with nice-smelling houses…Don’t forget to SAVE this for later.

“A nice-smelling home doesn’t necessarily mean it has to smell of diffusers, it could just be one that doesn’t have bad odours.

“And there are several ways to make sure that your home doesn’t have any.”

She then revealed the “12 things people with nice-smelling houses don’t do”, as she explained: “They never let the bins overflow.

“They never forget to deodorise sink drains.

“They never forget to clean the cat litter tray.

“They don’t leave wet laundry in the washing machine for too long.

“They never forget to change kitchen towels and cloths.

“They never forget to clean out the refrigerator.”

Not only this, Nerkesha also explained that people that have a fresh smelling home would never put leftover food in their kitchen bin, and would ensure that they regularly open their windows, as she added: “They never let anyone smoke in their home.

“They never throw food waste in the kitchen bin.

“They never forget to open the windows.

“They never close the washing machine door after using it.

“They never forget to shampoo their carpets and rugs.

“They never forget to change their bedding weekly.”

The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @82pondview, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as at the time of writing, it had only been live for 23 hours, but had quickly amassed 54,500 views.

Social media users were thankful for the tips and others were keen to share their tips on how they keep their home smelling fresh.

One person said: “Honestly, I forget many of these things daily but they do get done.

“I have a big dog and boys who dirt bike but I always get comments on how nice and clean our home smells and feels.”

Another added: “We throw food waste in the kitchen bin only because our bin for non recycling waste is intentionally small so it gets taken out every day. Yes to the rest!”
