Who is Manta founder Tim Binnington?
FACING the tough investors on Dragons' Den can be a daunting prospect.
However, founder of the Manta hairbrush Tim Binnington is doing just that, and hoping he can win over the Dragons with his product.
What is Manta?
Manta provides a range of hairbrushes that aim to stop breakage, and at the same time boost shine.
They were invented by Tim Binnington, who is an experienced hairdresser, after working in the business for around 30 years.
I'm thrilled for our Manta Hair and Scalp Brush to take centre stage on Dragons' Den.
Tim Binnington
Tim originally came up with the idea of the brush when his wife was suffering from a life-threatening illness that caused her hair to fall out.
As it started to grow back, he wanted to invent a brush that was as gentle as possible, as she could only bear to use her fingers as a comb.

Seeing her struggle, kindhearted Tim set about inventing a revolutionary hairbrush, that would both help his wife and others.
Each brush is constructed with patented Flexguard technology, which means the bristles are designed to glide along and not pull on the hair.
Speaking about the Manta brush on his website, Tim said: "For years I watched people spend money on haircuts, salon colours, luxury shampoos and conditioners and then drag a rigid brush through their hair.
"Daily brushing actually causes a lot of irreversible damage to hair. I wanted to focus on creating a brush that would be as gentle on your hair as running your fingers through it.
"The Manta is the answer for anyone who wants to keep their hair condition as healthy as possible."
When will Tim Binnington appear on Dragons' Den?
Viewers will be able to watch Tim pitch the Manta hairbrush on Dragons' Den tonight (February 1, 2024) from 8pm on BBC One.
Fans will see him showcase his product in a bid to secure investment from the famous Dragons - Deborah Meaden, Peter Jones, Touker Suleyman, Sara Davies, and Steven Bartlett.
Announcing the news on Instagram, Tim said: "I'm thrilled for our Manta Hair and Scalp Brush to take centre stage on Dragons' Den, showcasing our innovation in hair care and ready to pitch out passion for healthy shiny hair."
He will be joined by a whole host of other business owners and inventors, including Patrick McKeown and Sooper Books.
What did Tim Binnington do before he started Manta?
Before inventing Manta, Tim worked as a hairdresser and started his career in the early 90s.
After this, he worked his way up to owning a chain of hair salons called Headmasters.
Speaking about his success, he told Fourlondon.com: "I have been lucky to be involved in business for a lot of my adult life but still have so much to learn.
"I have loved the whole process and working with some extraordinary people with amazing talents.
"Like most things that are important in life, if you’d known how hard it would be, you might never have started – but the pride you feel when it’s a success is priceless."
Where can I buy Manta hairbrushes?
Manta is available to buy at your local Headmaster hair salon.
They can also be bought on Manta's website, where you will find a range of brushes and products.
On their Instagram page they also keep people up-to-date with the latest news on their hairbrushes.
On the popular handle @mantahair fans of the product can also get special offers and giveaways.
Again speaking to Fourlondon.com, Manta inventor Tim praised his loyal customers.
