Shoppers in frenzy over £2 mascara from bargain store that’s better than pricey ones – it’s even converted makeup snobs
WHEN it comes to makeup, cheap dupes have already shown you don't need to spend a fortune to get good products.
And a bargain mascara has had shoppers in a frenzy this week.
It even seems to have converted "makeup snobs" who have vowed to ditch their pricier lash products for the Home Bargains version.
Sharing a picture of her cheap find on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains Facebook page - which boasts 2.4 million members - one beauty fan said: "Picked up this mascara in Home Bargains recently for £2 when I realised on the way to work that I’d forgotten mine.
"I’m usually a makeup snob but this stuff is amazing!!
"I used to spend £20+ and now I’ll never go back!"
And she isn't alone, as someone else immediately chimed in: "I have this, it's good."
"I have this, it's amazing", echoed another.
"I like to use a mascara top coat as well to protect it and it’s amazing."
Meanwhile, a third wrote: "Another one for me to try."
The makeup recommendation comes after a mum-of-three revealed beauty lovers might be suffering with raccoon eyes as a result of botched mascara without even realising.
Fortunately, she has also shared her five-second hack to banish raccoon eyes and bring life back to your under-eyes.
Raccoon eyes refers to mascara smudging underneath the eye and creating a dark shadow, leaving you with black rings around your eye just like the bin-loving mammals.
According to mum Lauren, it can happen for one of three reasons.
These are having oily eyelids, using products under the eyes that make your under-eyes oily or the formula of your mascara isn’t bonding with your lashes like it should.
These all cause the mascara to slide off your lashes and land on the delicate skin around your orbs.
Elsewhere, former BBC Radio One presenter and DJ Annie Mac has swore that the £2 NIVEA Soft soft moisturising cream is essentially the same as a much more expensive cream.
She claimed that the NIVEA cream, which can be bought from Boots, “is actually Creme de la Mer but in a different box.”
And other beauty fans have hailed it as “just as good as a Charlotte Tilbury one.”

Talking about the cheap cream, one said: “All the makeup artists agree and all say the same thing about Charlotte Tilbury's Magic cream.
“It's essentially identical to NIVEA and just mixed with a little bit of highlighter balm, FYI.”
