The clever IKEA hack which means you can save yourself £40 – and get the products delivered for just a fiver
IT'S the Swedish homeware store famous for its low prices and incredible variety.
But some people have been put off ordering things from IKEA because of the astronomical delivery fees - with express delivery for items over 150kg costing a staggering £45.
However, one woman has been left stunned after discovering a clever hack which means she can get her IKEA shopping delivered for just a fiver.
"I've always refused to pay the £45 delivery fee on IKEA because I just think that is genuine extortion," Astin explained in a video on her TikTok page.
"I don't know who is paying that.
"Maybe if you've spent £1,000 or something, you can pay it, but I'm not paying £45 when the bookshelf I want is £40."

So she's done her best "for years" to avoid paying the charge, and has been travelling for miles to get to her nearest store.
But having a "tiny car" is also problematic, as Astin added: "A lot of the time I wouldn't buy what I needed to buy because I'm just not paying £45 delivery fee."
So when it came to looking into buying a bookshelf she wanted from the shop, Astin decided to look into other delivery options.
And it was then that she discovered "you can pay £5 to get it delivered to a storage facility near you".
"Why did no-one tell me that this was an option?" she asked.
"The storage facility is about a five minute drive from me, and then from there I can get my fiance to pick it up in his lorry or whatever.
"But even so, I didn't know this was a thing!
"You can get it delivered to near your house for a fiver. That's great.
"IKEA - take my money!"
"No more £45 ikea delivery fee," Astin captioned her video.
People were quick to comment on the clip, with one writing: "If you’re only getting something small it’s cheaper.
"I paid £2 for a vase to be delivered to my corner shop."
"Ikea does click and collect to your local supermarket for free as well," another said.
While someone else added: "My local tesco do ikea click and collect now too!"
"What a slay, honestly," Astin replied.
On the IKEA website, they state that orders placed online can be picked up from their transport provider's vehicle in confirmed Tesco customer car parks.
This delivery option is free for orders over £100, or £5 for all other orders.
But the hack Astin was referring to is that you can also choose to have your order delivered to a Shift self-serve collection locker.

Once again, this is free for orders over £100, or £5 otherwise.
After you place the order online, you will receive collection instructions via email - detailing the address, locker number and PIN number to open the locker.
