But one man decided to take that gamble, as he dropped £160 on a suitcase that had been abandoned at the airport.

Darick took to TikTok to document the process of opening up the case for the first time, as he admitted: "I'm gonna be completely honest with you.

"I think I paid way too much.

"So I won this for about $200 (£160) after fees and everything - and that might have been a total waste of money."

He then started to open the case, starting with the front pouch, which contained an iPhone charger, a box for the charger, some cough sweets and a Delta plane ticket.

Moving onto the new compartment of the suitcase, Darick found a JPL speaker, commenting: "That's really nice!"

It was then time to open the main part of the suitcase, which he did before pulling out "some fancy clothes".

"We got a dress shirt, dress pants, a suit - not bad," he said.

"Jeans, more clothes."

Darick then exclaimed "oh yo!" as he spotted a pair of trainers at the bottom of the case - some Nike Air Jordans.

"Wow!" he added.

"These are pretty dirty, but I'm sure they still got some value."

The haul continued with a "pretty neat" World Travel Adapter Kit, as well as a Spanish Rosetta Stone kit and an Apple keyboard.

"That's gotta be worth something!" he said.

A pair of fancy dress shoes was up next, as well as a belt, and some "expensive cologne" - called Uomo.

"That pouch just looks like socks and underwear," he said.

"I don't really wanna touch that right now."

Concluding, Darick asked: "Did you guys think that was worth 200 bucks?"

People were divided in the comments section, with some insisting he'd found some jackpot items in the case.

"Look up cleaning those Jordans," one wrote.

"They’ll definitely be worth something.

"They have a place that makes the soles turn white again.

"Good find!"

"Apple keyboard worth about $500 (£394), Rosetta Stone about $300 (£236), those shoes and belt about $900 (£709), you’ve made a fortune!" another gushed.

But others disagreed, with one writing: "Looks like it had been gone through before and all the good stuff taken."

"This would be a huge waste of money," another agreed.

"You think baggage handlers don’t go through them and take the good stuff?"

"Airlines go through them first… then auction," a third commented.

"$0 value. Someone definitely went through that suitcase and left just trash," someone else said.

"Wasted money," another wrote.

"Save yourself some time and just toss all of that into a dumpster," someone else advised.
