I couldn’t afford a house so live in a shed I bought off Facebook – it looks tiny but it has everything I need
A WOMAN has shared how she transformed a shed she bought off Facebook into a tiny home.
Donneshia Mcgee shared an insight into her shed conversion via a video posted to her TikTok channel @donneshiamcgee97.
She explained that her shed conversion took just 2 months to complete, and added that the only part of the project that was expensive was the plumbing.
When Donneshia first purchased her shed, off a man she found on Facebook, it was completely bare inside and just looked like a bog standard shed.
She got it delivered to her on the back of a truck.
With the help of builders she got to work straight away, laying down tiles, framing the walls and installing insulation.

They then added wiring into the shed and putting up drywall.
After this was all complete, the walls were painted and a kitchen and bathroom were installed.
Inside, Donneshia's shed now looks like a cosy little home.
An adorable welcome sign is hung on the outside of the from door, and homely pictures and quotes are hung from the walls.
In the bedroom, there is a large double bed, plenty of storage space, and a TV mounted on the wall.
The shed also has a bathroom, complete with a shower, toilet and all of the essentials.
The kitchen and living area is all open plan, which gives the shed a spacious feel and there is also room for an office space, with a desk and a computer tucked away into the corner.
TikTok users raced to the video's comments section to share their thoughts on Donneshia's shed conversion.
One user said: "So wonderful, I want to do this".
Another user said: "This is the best looking layout for a shed conversion I've seen".
Living in a shed is a great way to save cash for a house, if you want to move out but don't yet have the funds to be able to afford one.
As the cost of living crisis continues to bite, more and more adults are struggling to get on the property ladder and are choosing to live in their family home for longer.
The 2021 census revealed that over half of people aged 23 and under still live with their parents.
The average price of a house in the UK was £285,000 as of March 2023, and this rises to a whopping £735,254, which is completely unaffordable for many.
Moreover, research from the Resolution Foundation found that the average first time buyer deposit tripled from 5 per cent of the property price in 1989 to 15 per cent in 2019.
This means that buyers have to save for far longer and use up a larger percentage of their earnings to get on the property ladder.
