Kate Middleton’s outspoken uncle could ’embarrass’ her on Celeb Big Brother and is ‘last thing she needs’, experts warn

PRINCESS Kate's uncle, Gary Goldsmith, could "embarrass" the Royal Family if he joins the Celebrity Big Brother house, blasted experts.

The "black sheep" of the Middleton family risks causing the "vulnerable" Royal-mum-of-three even more stress as she recovers from her abdominal surgery.

It comes as insiders claimed the controversial businessman, brother of Kate's mum Carole, had negotiated a hefty contract with the ITV show’s bosses.

A source said: “Gary is champing at the bit to get on Celebrity Big Brother.

“He finalised the terms of his deal today and can’t wait to enter the house.”

The 58-year-old angled for a spot on I’m A Celebrity last year but was turned away over fears it could embarrass Kate and William.

Gary previously scorned Harry and Meghan after the release of Spare and is known for his "outspoken" opinions on the pair.

Now, royal experts have slammed the decision to welcome him into the Celebrity Big Brother house - branding the move "embarrassing" a potentially "dangerous" to the Royals amid a difficult time.

Kate remains in recovery at The London Clinic after being admitted on January 16, as King Charles underwent surgery for an enlarged prostate on Friday.

'CRINGE'

Angela Levin told The Sun: "I think it's cringe-making, very embarrassing, the trouble is he doesn't like Harry and Meghan at all, some of this comments will fall onto Catherine and she's had a lot against her, she's not well, she's in hospital.

"I think when you come out of an operation you're quite vulnerable and this could upset her enormously.

"In principle people who don't like her could say she encouraged him to do it, but she would have done nothing of the kind.

"It's very embarrassing.

"It's very hard being a Royal, and I don't know if this is a good idea.

"I don't think he's doing it for money, he's a multi-millionaire, maybe just to be heard, but that makes it worse."

"The trouble is with these programmes is they don't remember there are cameras running all the time, and he could say something inappropriate and it can be quite dangerous.

"It's not appropriate behaviour really."

Meanwhile, Royal biographer Richard Fitzwilliams agreed this news would be the "last thing" Kate needs to deal with.

He told The Sun: "With Kate in hospital it's the last thing she would want.

"I don't think the Middletons will be particularly delighted."

But, the Royal expert believed Gary would be a flop when it came to popularity on the show.

"I suspect he will be a big yawn. I think he will try really hard to make comments about the Sussexes, because I don't think most people know who he is and most people are that interested," he said.

CBB's Most Controversial Stars

Celebrity Big Brother has had its fair share of controversial bookings over the years...

  1. Gary Busey (Hollywood actor known for his temperament)
  2. Jim Davidson (whose controversial stand-up and political commentary led to calls for him to be 'cancelled')
  3. Dustin Diamond (Saved By The Bell star who later released his own sex tape)
  4. Courtney Stodden (model who married 51-year-old Green Mile star Doug Hutchison aged just 16)
  5. Michael Barrymore (who appeared on the show in the aftermath of the unsolved death of Stuart Lubbock at his home)

Gary has a controversial history and first became embroiled in scandal in 2009 when caught cutting lines of cocaine for a sex worker at a wild party in Ibiza.

The business mogul then avoided prison again when found guilty of hitting his fourth wife Julie-Ann in a drunken row in 2017.

"He is the family black sheep," explained Mr Fitzwilliams.

"I wouldn't be surprised if he turned out to be a big yawn and made a few comments the Royal Family could undoubtedly do without about the Sussexes.

"He could embarrass the Middleton family, and one would worry he doesn't say too much because it wouldn't be helpful.

"The Royal Family do have other things to bother about at the moment but this news does no service to them."

A spokesman for Celebrity Big Brother said: “All names are purely speculation at this stage.”

ROYAL OPS

It comes as both Kate and the King recover at The London Clinic for their respective operations.

Princess Kate is expected to miss a string of events until Easter time following her pre-planned surgery.

Sources claimed at the weekend that Kate's commitment to her royal duties will see her get back into work as soon as she can.

The trouble is with these programmes is they don't remember there are cameras running all the time, and he could say something inappropriate and it can be quite dangerous."

She is said to have plans to work from bed once she arrives home from her surgery.

Kate's husband Prince William, 41, has visited her every day at the clinic in Marylebone, central London.

Meanwhile, children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis had not been to see their mum to keep life "normal", as they continued going to school.

Kate's parents were also said to have cleared their schedule to help with the children.

Meanwhile, Queen Camilla was pictured today arriving to visit King Charles in hospital.

She smiled as she entered the hospital's back entrance in a black Audi car at noon.

Yesterday, Charles was pictured in good spirits as the pair walked in together at 8.45am.

The King then visited his daughter-in-law before his own op.

And, it emerged Charles wished to be treated at the same hospital to avoid a double security bill.

If the King had chosen to have surgery at the Royal Family's favoured hospital – King Edward VII's – a second bodyguard detail may have costed up to £14,000 more.

Camilla appeared in good spirits when she first left the premises at 3.10pm on Friday, she told wellwishers: "He's fine, thank you."

The Queen visited for a second time for around an hour and a half before leaving just before 8pm.

It is understood she told people inside the hospital earlier that the King was "doing well" after the procedure.
