Princess Kate admitted to hospital for 14 days after surgery revealed in ‘significant announcement’ from Palace
PRINCESS Kate was admitted into hospital for abdominal surgery yesterday, confirmed the Palace.
It is expected Kate will remain in hospital for ten to fourteen days following the successful procedure, according to Kensington Palace.
The royal mum-of-three was taken to The London Clinic yesterday for a planned abdominal surgery.
It is understood the surgery was not for cancer but Kensington Palace will not speculate on the private medical matter.
A statement from the Palace read: “The Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate.
"She hopes that the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible; and her wish that her personal medical information remains private.

“Kensington Palace will, therefore, only provide updates on Her Royal Highness’ progress when there is significant new information to share.
"The Princess of Wales wishes to apologise to all those concerned for the fact that she has to postpone her upcoming engagements. She looks forward to reinstating as many as possible, as soon as possible.”
The Princess was last seen conducting Royal duties with Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis at the Christmas Day church service in Sandringham.
Kate donned a beaming smile at the crowds as she led her children into the festive service.
She looked sophisticated in a Alexander McQueen royal blue long coat and wore Princess Diana's sapphire and diamond drop earrings.
The mum-of-three has not been seen in public since Christmas Day.
It comes just just over a week since Princess Kate celebrated her 42nd birthday.
She was set to mark the occasion with homemade gifts from her three children and a birthday cake courtesy of her mum Carole.
There Kate was made “a fuss of” and “spoiled” by William and her parents Carole and Michael Middleton.
