Hong Kong police hunt 2 suspects who assaulted man, stole his bag containing HK$3.6 million at pedestrian underpass

Hong Kong police have launched a citywide hunt for two suspects who allegedly assaulted a man and stole his bag containing HK$3.6 million (US$460,105) in cash at a pedestrian underpass in the New Territories.

The broad daylight robbery took place in the Sheung Shui Wai area off Jockey Club Road in Sheung Shui at around 11.54am on Wednesday, according to the force.

“The victim [in his 50s] claimed he was assaulted by two men who then snatched his bag containing HK$3.6 million in cash,” a police spokeswoman said.

She added that the victim was punched and kicked in the attack, and no weapon was used in the incident.
