Hong Kong police arrest drug trafficking suspect, seize HK$20,000 of narcotics in Tseung Kwan O

Hong Kong police arrested an alleged drug trafficker and seized narcotics worth HK$20,000 (US$2,570) after finding the suspect’s illegally parked car, believed to be used in the delivery of the banned substance, on Tuesday.

The arrest of the 26-year-old man was made by officers from the Kowloon East traffic unit who carried out a predawn operation targeting alleged drug-impaired driving and trafficking on Chi Sin Street in Tseung Kwan O.

During the operation, officers intercepted the man’s car after finding the vehicle parked illegally on the street at about 4am, according to the force.

“Around 77 grams of what appeared to be marijuana and five cartridges containing suspected cannabidiol oil were seized in the vehicle,” police said, adding that the haul had an estimated street value of about HK$20,000.
