I have dark purple circles under my eyes – my makeup trick creates the illusion they’re fuller and lighter
FROM poor sleep to genetics, there are countless causes for dark circles under your eyes.
A beauty fan has revealed her makeup hack that will instantly brighten your bags.
In her video, Sarah (@sarahssuperspa) demonstrated the quick technique she uses to create the illusion of a fuller under-eye.
"Forget the filler cause now you can create the illusion of fuller under eyes using makeup," she said.
For her first step, the TikToker opted for a specific shade of concealer to counteract her dark under-eyes.
"I have purple dark circles so something that has a little bit more of a yellow tone will really help," she explained.
Sarah doubled up her concealer as a color corrector, applying the bright shade to her under-eyes.
"I’m just going to really concentrate it in the area where I have the dark circles or any type of darkness," she said.
Next, she used a lighter shade of concealer to draw a thin line along the edge of her under-eyes.
"Now that you’ve canceled out that darkness we’re still left with this line over here," she explained.
"Really carefully place a lighter concealer where the line begins but we’re not going to go over that line.
"We’re going to keep this on the side of the discoloration otherwise it ruins the whole illusion."
Sarah recommended moving the concealer towards the eye rather than away to avoid going over the line.
"You can see how when you do this it brightens the area that is darker and by doing that it de-emphasizes the line a lot," she told her viewers.
Finally, she explained to her audience how to cover the line, which is still visible in certain lights.
"We have to remember there’s still hollowness there whether you cover it or not so when you’re in person with light moving around your face you’re going to see that line," Emma said.
"To minimize that light reflection you get from the line you can put the tiniest bit of powder on using a puff.
"That really helps remove that shine and prevent that line from catching the light more."
