Hong Kong police probe death of man after suspected fall from public housing estate where fire broke out

Hong Kong police are investigating the death of a man who is suspected to have fallen from a public housing flat in Kowloon where a fire broke out and forced 300 people to evacuate the building.

Police received a report shortly before 8pm on Friday about a fire and a man believed to have fallen from a flat in Choi Foon House at Choi Fook Estate in Ngau Tau Kok.

Officers found the man, 59, lying on the ground at the estate. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The force said the cause of the blaze was still under investigation and the case had been classified as suspected arson.
