I was hunting for a trench coat for ages when I found a gem at the thrift store – I knew its real value from the label
A WOMAN was shocked to learn the true value of her secondhand purchase.
The avid thrifter learned that her affordable fashion find was actually from a designer brand.
In her viral post, Reddit user Chloe (Averagechloe) modeled the trench coat she picked up at her local Goodwill.
The khaki-colored coat reached just below her knee and featured four buttons and a belt.
Despite costing her less than $100, Chloe soon learned that her coat was worth a lot more money.
"Got this vintage Burberry trench coat at Goodwill for $75, it fits me perfectly," she told her audience.
Reddit users researched the average value of the brand's trench coats.
"I just looked it up and these babies go for $1,900 new!! $75 is a steal in my books," wrote one reader.

Chloe layered the coat over a white cropped top and stonewashed denim jeans.
She completed the look with a pair of black high heels, which she thrifted for $5.
"I’ve been hunting for a well-fitted trench coat for ages until I stumbled upon this gem," she told her followers.
Chloe joked that the find was meant to be since the coat was "even petite sized."

According to Goodwill, it's unpredictable when a "huge" shipment of new items will arrive.
Many regulars recommend shopping early on Monday and Tuesday as donations are usually dropped off on the weekend.
Weekdays are also less crowded, so employees will spend time putting out new stock.
