I’ll have £2k by Christmas thanks to easy savings challenge – it costs as little as £5 a time and it’s really flexible
DO you always get to Christmas and are faced with huge costs for food and presents?
One savvy woman has shared how she has started an easy saving challenge for 2024 that will mean she has £2,000 by the end of the year.
And the best part is you save whenever you can and the lowest amount you need to put in is £5.
Tish shared how she is putting the money aside to help save for a house deposit and showed the process.
She has a piece of paper with 110 circles on it with varying amounts of money.
Tish has to add notes to her piggy bank and then tick off the circles as she goes, and she can choose from £5, £10, £15, £20, £30 and £40.
More on savings
On her @saving_with_tish account, she said: “Adding £20 to my £2,000 savings challenge.
“Just one circle to scribble off today.
“I like to do the bigger amounts first, so I’m hoping it’ll be easier the more I get through it.”
She added that puts it in a sealed tin so she can’t access the money on a whim.
In order to encourage her saving, Tish shared how she also writes down the monthly totals on another piece of paper so she can see how much she has put aside.
She also puts aside cash for holidays, an emergency fund, for a penny saving challenge, and an 100 envelope challenge.
Tish explained: “I do all my challenges randomly when I have some cash.
“I usually put any cash I have in a jar.
“Then once I get chance I go through and split it between the challenges.”
People were clearly impressed with her saving habits, as her video has racked up 3,000 likes.
One person said: “Amazing progress!! Well done.”
Another added: “I need this.”
