I’ve made the perfect budget teacher gift for Christmas – it cost me £12 and is packed with festive goodies

IT can be incredibly difficult to think of a Christmas gift for a teacher that they actually want.

But one mum has shared how she made a gorgeous present for her kid's teacher, and it cost her just £12.

Alyssa initially showed how she'd made a teacher gift for £70, but then decided to prove she could do it on a budget too

Alyssa initially used a Stanley cup and included a £20 Starbucks gift card to make a present worth a pricey £70.

However, after she was blasted for not being "relatable" enough creating the gift, she decided to show in another video on her TikTok page that she can make a similar one on a budget too.

She began by hunting for a cup to put the goodies in - finding some at a cheap store but admitting they "aren't great", so she kept on looking.

Alyssa eventually found some reduced cups in her local TJ Maxx, for just £4.50 each, so grabbed three - one red, one silver and one green.

She then picked up some individually wrapped chocolates, some shredded paper, some ribbon and a pack of three hand creams.

And on the way home, she popped to her local Starbucks to grab three £4.50 gift cards.

"Now put these little cuties together!" Alyssa said when she was home.

She began by putting in the shredded paper and some of the chocolates, before wedging the gift card and hand cream in.

She also added a cute Christmas decoration on the side of the cup, and some festive ribbon on the straw.

Alyssa concluded by revealing that the gifts had cost her just £12.21 each.

"They are so dang cute," she gushed.

"And remember guys, this is an idea.

"It's the thought that counts."

People were quick to comment on the video, with one writing: "As a teacher I would die of happiness if I got this!"

"I hope teachers understand that some of us are barely able to afford groceries," another added.

To which Alyssa replied: "I don’t think anyone expects a gift ever - just a bonus!"

"As a teacher myself, we appreciate anything. Even just a drawing or a note," a third commented.

"Teachers deserve the world!" someone else said.

"My mum used to teach and it was so fun seeing the gifts she would get at Christmas."

As another wrote: "As a teacher myself, I’ve been given everything from handmade notes and homemade treats to a $100 gift card.

"I love them all because I expect nothing."

"I have gotten some really nice gifts from students (‘ parents lol) and I really appreciate it," someone else agreed.

"We don’t make a lot and don’t treat ourselves often."
