Stu's life changed for the better when he started caring for his granddaughter after her mother Bridget was sent to prison for murder.

The former homeless man turned over a new leaf and Eliza quickly became one of the most important people in his life.

So he was devastated when the schoolgirl tracked down her deadbeat dad Dom (Darren Morfitt), and decided to move in with him instead.

Stu ended up going to extreme lengths in an attempt to get Eliza back, and in most recent scenes stooped to Dom's level, offering him £10k in cash to abandon the girl.

He took Stu up on the offer, dropping his daughter off at No.6 along with all her things and no word of explanation.

Audiences are bored of the showdown between the two men now, and have taken to social media to complain that they want it axed.

One viewer hit out: "This Stu and Eliza story is one massive snoozefest, who actually gives a s**t."

Another agreed: This storyline with Stu is so boring....in fact, Stu is so boring."

A third moaned: "This Stu/Eliza storyline would bore you to tears."

Other Corrie fans have expressed worry for the old man, saying: "I wonder if Dom is either gonna leave Eliza and bring her brother back with him or take Eliza with him to Germany? I can see this backfiring massively on Stu."
