I’m a Next shop manager – how we prep for the post-Christmas sales… plus the EXACT date to grab the best bargains

A MANAGER working at Next has revealed the exact date the shops will open for their massive sale, with bargains slashed to at least 50 per cent off.

Like most retailers, the popular high street store Next is also joining the winter sale after the festive period - and now one employee has shared a sneaky behind-the-scenes of the manic preparation.

According to the manager, there is a lot of planning that goes into the winter sales

According Melanie, who works at the store as a manager, it's more than just chucking out random items on the floor - the team will first sit down together and plan what buys to put on sale during their annual Christmas meeting.

This usually starts by getting in the festive mood with Pass The Parcel and quizzes, as well as a number of different sweets on the table, before the real work begins.

To ensure the rota is done fairly, Melanie will do her very best to accommodate all Christmas time-off requests, she claimed in the video.

As well as prepping all of their marketing in advance and getting the tickets ready before the big day, the team will also put up any logos and posters on the windows ''to advertise the sale is coming''.

Once the stock has been prepared and the shop floors are ready for bargain hunters, the employees will enjoy a well-deserved break with a pizza party.

The sale, Melanie added in the clip, is said to be full with ''really good'' buys, ranging from cut-price jumpers and cosy shirts to keep warm this winter.

''Lots of bargains to be had.''

But when can you expect to get your hands on these goodies? Well, according to the manager, you might want to head to the nearest branch as soon as possible, as the sale starts today, December 27th.

To avoid any disappointment, Melanie advised to check out your local store's opening times, as these may vary.

However, before you hit the high street, make sure you know which stores are not taking part in Boxing Day sales - and there are some which might take you by surprise.

Primark

High street giant Primark has around 200 stores across the country, and is a favourite for many shoppers looking for the latest fashion at bargain prices.

It's for that very reason that Primark do not offer a giant sale after Christmas - though savvy shoppers might still spot seasonal savings.

A spokesperson told The Sun: "Primark offers the best value prices on all our ranges all year round.

"While we don’t host traditional store-wide Boxing Day Sales, we will be open on Boxing Day and may offer some seasonal markdowns across our festive ranges.''

TK Maxx

Last year a spokesperson told The Sun: "Unlike traditional retailers, we generally don’t do promotions, sales or other gimmicks, just exciting merchandise at amazing prices every single day."

But one expert has claimed that you might still see some of the retailer's everyday discounts rebranded as seasonal sales.

Tom Church from the Latest Deals website previously told The Sun: "In the past, TK Maxx explicitly said it doesn't do Black Friday. Then they realised people stopped coming to the store that day.

"So they started to say '60% off RRP for Black Friday' which is the same deal they do all year round.

"The same is true for Christmas and January sales."

Poundland

Poundland launched its first very Black Friday sale this year - but the discount brand has made no promises for cheaper deals around the festive season.

The Sun have asked the discount shop and will make sure to update when we hear back.

Meanwhile, here's how to get discounts all year round including the best time to shop at Poundland and clearance shelves to check out.
