I had an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction in a dress I designed – I used a so-called ‘almighty’ zipper but never again
AFTER a mortifying fashion malfunction, this was wardrobe war.
The designer was especially frustrated over a supposed wonder zipper.
"When your zipper spoils in the middle of a shoot but you still maintain beauty," said Keerah (@keerahsfashioncave).
With her back to an adoring crowd in an extravagant multi-toned green gown with a long flowing train that cascaded down a stairway, the disaster took everyone by surprise.
Loud screams could be heard as the zipper in the back completely split apart.
While she kept a brave face, Keerah wanted to set the record straight.
"Just see how this dress embarrassed a whole designer like me lol - before you judge, hold on and hear my side of the story," she said.
She explained how she decided to transform the dress - that she had originally made three years ago - after the owner had rejected the garment.
Keerah decided to add the tulle train - but forgot about this one detail: the zipper.
"I didn't even think about it that the zip may have got weak - and this isn't even a regular zip, but the so called almighty stone zip," explained the exasperated designer.
It might have been an embarrassing moment, but this queen simply turned around to face her fans with her head held high.
She was also never going to make that mistake again.
And others were impressed with her attitude.
"Forget zip madam, dress is beautiful," said this in awe follower.
Another agreed: "Beautiful, zipper got nothing on you."
"I didn't even shake or stumble, I slayed on because nothing can stop my shine. But if I was a customer, I would have been in serious trouble," she joked.
She just hoped her own story could serve as a tale of caution for other prospective customers as well as up-and-coming designers.
"I hope you see we all experience this and sometimes we have no control over what we buy at the market. But guys, if you can, run away from Stone Zip."
Others were certainly getting the memo - and could relate to her dress disaster.
"I’m a fashion designer myself and there are times the situation is beyond our control but glad you rocked the dress," said this follower.
