Sarah Beeny gives marriage update after shocking fans by saying it was ‘hanging on by its fingernails’
TV presenter Sarah Beeny has shared a marriage update after admitting it was 'hanging on by fingernails' during her cancer battle.
The 51-year-old opened up about her relationship with her husband, Graham Swift, after she beat cancer.
While appearing on Tuesday's instalment of the Lorraine show to discuss her new book The Simple Life: How I Found Home, Sarah was quizzed about her relationship status.
She replied: "I did a podcast with someone, and I told a funny joke, which I thought was a funny joke about marriage."
The TV star clarified that her previous remarks of "hanging on by fingernails" was supposed to be a funny joke with no serious substance to it.
She went on to explain that after making the joke on Gabby Logan's podcast, The Midpoint, she woke up the following day, and the joke had been blown out of proportion.

Sarah also admitted during the sit-down that marriage and relationships weren’t easy but stressed how lucky and blessed she was to have such a supportive family.
She explained: "I'm not going to say it's easy because obviously, it isn't easy, but I think I'm very lucky that I've got a husband and kids who are so supportive."
Opening up about her cancer battle in October, the TV personality disclosed that treatment was "particularly horrible" and put pressure on her and her husband's relationship.
Speaking to Gabby, she also revealed: "We're hanging on in there by our fingernails.
“I mean, it's not easy, is it? Graham always said, 'The day we have to work on our marriage, I'm going to leave'. And I was like, 'Really?' But I think he has had to work at it, to be honest.
"I was particularly horrible because I have been a bit horrible in the last couple of years to be honest at times."
The property expert also shared that the couple had a conversation and admitted that neither wanted to live apart from their children Billy, 19, Charlie, 17, Rafferty, 15, and Laurie, 13.
The couple hooked up when Sarah was 18 after being set up on a blind date by mates, and several years later, they tied the knot in September 2002.
In August 2022, the Channel 4 and BBC presenter made it public that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer and was seeking treatment.
She revealed that she had undergone radiotherapy and chemotherapy, as well as a mastectomy, to fight the dangerous cancer cells attacking her body.
In April this year, Sarah announced the great news that she had been given the all-clear and was cancer-free.
Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV1 and ITVX.
