M&S is selling a £40 crossbody Chanel bag dupe that’s £8140 cheaper than the real thing

Marks & Spencer has created a cross-body bag, which looks very similar to the iconic Chanel Classic Flap but retails for a fraction of the price.

M&S' Quilted Chain Strap Cross Body Shoulder Bag retails for £39.50, which is £8,140 less than the Chanel Classic Flap, and we think the two bags are strikingly similar.
The M&S handbag is not only affordable but super stylish, and it's not the first designer dupe we've spotted from the high street fixture.

Of course, the M&S' Quilted Chain Strap Cross Body Shoulder Bag has some notable differences from Chanel's bag, such as the faux leather design, whereas the Chanel variations are made from either lambskin or calfskin, which, of course, the price tag reflects.
The bag features a similar quilted padding exterior, which is what makes the Chanel designs so distinctive, as well as the luxurious chain body strap.
The chain detailing on the M&S design echoes the Chanel design, as well as being super versatile; you can wear it across the body, on a long strap over the shoulder, or double up the straps to wear over one shoulder.
When it comes to shopping for a new bag we need one with compartments to house all our valuables, and other bits and bobs, so we can gain easy access to them.
Luckily for us, the M&S' Quilted Chain Strap Cross Body Shoulder Bag features two internal compartments, one which is larger than the front pocket and is perfect for your phone and cards.

The compartments inside the Chanel Small Classic are different to the M&S version, as there are numerous compartments of different sizes inside, as well as an external slip pocket.
The bag also has a flap cover, which can be secured using the twist-lock design, similar to the Chanel version - but of course, without the iconic logo.
In terms of sizing the M&S' Quilted Chain Strap Cross Body Shoulder Bag is similar in size to the Chanel creation as it measures 14cm in height, 5cm in width and 25cm in depth, whereas Chanel's Small Classic Handbag measures 14.5 × 23 × 6 cm.
