I spent £11,900 on an arm lift after losing 14 stone but still hate how it looks – people say I should ‘sue’ my surgeon

Some medical experts offer corrective surgery for post-weight loss, although these types of procedure are usually accompanied by a hefty price tag.

One woman, who lost a whopping 14 stone, forked out to have the loose skin on her arms lifted and tightened, but has been left gutted with her results.

Christy Love, a personal trainer who goes by the username @christylove4eva on TikTok, posted a clip to her 45.2k followers.

She'd travelled to Miami for a brachioplasty, otherwise known as an arm lift.

It's a surgical procedure that removes excess skin and fat from the upper arm, all the way from the shoulder to the elbow.

Five years on since the date of her procedure, her arm had mostly healed - but not at all in the way that she had hoped for.

In her clip, she holds her arm up and it's not initially clear why Christy is unhappy.

It's only when she extends her arm that viewers can see the full results of her skin lift.

Pretending to scream in annoyance and pulling an unimpressed face, the fitness fanatic makes no attempt to hide her disapproval.

But it seems there's little she can do, as she's captioned her clip: "Refunds not allowed, it’s always in the contract they make you sign."

Users in the comments questioned whether she had suffered from any infection after her procedure, which may have affected its outcome.

But Christy claims her results are just down to a "s****y job."

She revealed to her followers that she's now looking into a tattoo cover-up to hide most of the scarring, as it will be "cheaper than getting it redone."

Viewers are left in shock

Concerned viewers flooded the comments with words of advice.

"Girly, I would sue," said one person.

"And honestly, that’s why I just have my flabby arms. That scarring is so intense to me," said another.

"Unfortunately arm lifts often do scar badly. I’m sorry you have had a bad result but you should still be proud of yourself for the weight loss," another person said kindly.

"I'm literally speechless-" said somebody else, lost for words.

How to lose weight safely

Losing weight should be a long-term commitment to healthier living, rather than any drastic measures.

The NHS tips - which can be adopted slowly - include:

  • Get active for 150 minutes a week – you can break this up into shorter sessions
  • Aim to get your 5 A Day – 80g of fresh, canned or frozen fruit or vegetables count as 1 portion
  • Aim to lose 1 to 2lbs, or 0.5 to 1kg, a week
  • Read food labels – products with more green colour coding than amber and red are often a healthier option
  • Swap sugary drinks for water – if you do not like the taste, add slices of lemon or lime for flavour
  • Cut down on food that's high in sugar and fat – start by swapping sugary cereal for wholegrain alternatives
  • Share your weight loss plan with someone you trust – they can help motivate you when you have a bad day
