Princess Beatrice’s baby girl’s royal title revealed – and why aunt Eugenie’s sons DON’T get them
PRINCESS Beatrice's baby girl could have a very unique royal title - but aunt Eugenie's sons won't get them.
The royal's newborn daughter Athena was born several weeks prematurely and is said to be healthy and doing well - weighing 4lb 5oz.
Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi announced the birth today alongside an adorable picture.
In a nod to the late Queen, their baby's middle name is Elizabeth - Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi.
The couple released a photo of their "tiny" newborn wrapped in a pink blanket.
She was born at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital shortly before 1pm on January 22.

It is not expected that His Majesty will give the newborn a title, however Athena could get a unique one through Edoardo’s family - but this won't extend to Eugenie's sons.
Edoardo is actually an Italian count, so his children also inherit a count or countess title.
Baby Athena will be a nobile donna, while her brothers would be counts.
Edoardo's dad, Count Allessandro Mapelli Mozzi, explained to the Daily Mail: “Edoardo is the only male descendent taking the family into the next generation.
“He is a count, his wife will be a countess automatically and any of their children will be counts or nobile donna.”
Edo's father has both British and Italian citizenship, but he cannot officially use his reported Italian title in the UK.
Athena would have been the late Queen's 13th great-grandchild and is 11th in line to the throne, with Beatrice's younger sister Princess Eugenie moving down to 12th place.
Royals are traditionally granted titles on their wedding day, Prince Harry became the Duke of Sussex when he tied the knot with Meghan Markle, as Prince William became the Duke of Cambridge when he wed Princess Kate.
Beatrice and Eugenie kept their royal status but were not given titles when they married their respective husbands.
This means Princess Eugenie's sons, August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, and Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank won't have a title.
Announcing the birth today, Edoardo said: "Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi.
"We welcomed Baby Athena into our lives last week. She is tiny and absolutely perfect. We are all (including Wolfie and Sienna) already completely besotted with her.
"Our hearts are overflowing with love for you, baby Athena.
"A massive thank you from my wife and I goes out to all the wonderful staff at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital for their exceptional care and support during this incredibly special time."
The princess, 36, and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi already share daughter Sienna, three.
Edoardo also has son Christopher Woolf, known as Wolfie, eight, from a previous relationship.
A post from the Royal Family's social media added: "Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter, Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi, born on Wednesday, January 22, at 12:57pm.
"The baby was born weighing 4 pounds and 5 ounces.
"The King and Queen, and other members of The Royal Family have all been informed and are delighted with the news.
"Princess Beatrice and Mr Mapelli Mozzi would like to thank all the staff at the hospital for their wonderful care.
"Her Royal Highness and her daughter are healthy and doing well, and the family are enjoying spending time together with Athena’s older siblings, Wolfie and Sienna."
Beatrice’s sister Princess Eugenie celebrated the new arrival by posting “Welcome Baby Girl” and sharing Mr Mapelli Mozzi’s photograph.
Their mum the Duchess of York added that she was "overflowing with love and joy".
She wrote in her own post: "She is already so adored and I’m incredibly blessed to be a Granny once again. So proud of Edo, Beatrice and the rest of my little 5-a-side team."
It comes after the couple announced they were expecting in October last year.
The happy news comes after one of the Royal Family's most personally challenging years, with the King, the Princess of Wales and Beatrice's mother Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, all being diagnosed with cancer.
The duchess was treated for malignant melanoma skin cancer in January just months after undergoing a mastectomy for breast cancer.
Beatrice married multi-millionaire property developer Edoardo in July 2020.
