I’m a Vinted pro – my top tips for selling loads including a simple image tweak that makes all the difference
A VINTED whizz has shared her top tips for selling your old clothes on the website.
Nic revealed her tricks via a video posted to her TikTok channel @nicswardrobe.
She often uses the account to share sustainable fashion tips and advice.
Vinted is an online marketplace where people can buy and sell second hand clothes, shoes and accessories.
It's completely free to upload clothes to the app and, unlike other sites like eBay and Depop, Vinted does not take a cut of sellers' profits and instead charges buyers a small fee to purchase each item.
Pictures
The fashion whizz's first tip is to take as many pictures of the item as you can and to take pictures with the clothes on your body if possible.

Keywords
Her next tip is to use lots of keywords in the description of your product, such as the material it's made out of, the colour and the brand.
Pricing
Nic also recommended pricing the item slightly higher than you want to sell if for, so you can negotiate with potential buyers.
Tweaking pictures
If you haven't sold your items in a few days, Nic revealed that if.you reorder them on the listing, this will give them a refresh on the website, and should generate more interest in your items.
Tags
She also recommended adding as many tags as possible to your items to increase search-ability and making the item descriptions as long as possible so buyers know exactly what they're getting.
Nic's video has clearly left many impressed, as it has racked up over 160,000 views.
TikTok users raced to the video's comments section to share their thoughts on Nic's tips.
One user said: "Love it".
A second user said: "Great tips".
Online marketplaces like Vinted and Depop have millions of users across the UK, with the cost-of-living crisis only increasing their popularity.
Financial pressures in British homes saw sales of second-hand goods jump by 15 per cent to £21 billion in 2022.
What are the new Vinted rules?
Since January 1, digital platforms, including eBay, Airbnb, Etsy, Amazon and Vinted, must share seller information with HMRC as part of a crackdown.
You're unlikely to be affected if you only sell a handful of second-hand items online each year - but firms now have to pass on your data to HMRC if you sell 30 or more items a year or earn over £1,700.
It is part of a wider tax crackdown to help ensure that those who boost their income via side hustles pay up what they owe.
While your data won't be shared with HMRC if you earn between £1,000 and £1,700, you'll still need to pay tax as normal.
One in six people now say they buy used items, according to research commissioned by review site Trustpilot.
So, now’s the perfect time to make yourself some extra cash on the likes of Vinted.
