Woman causes huge debate as she sells her nanna’s FUNERAL flowers on Vinted – for just £115
A WOMAN has sparked a fierce debate after trying to sell her grandmother's funeral flowers on Vinted for £115.
She posted images of the "Mum/Nan flowers" on the second-hand shopping app, and listed them as "new without tags".
But someone took offence to the listing, and decided to message her to say so.
"Not to be rude but it's a bit offensive selling someone's funeral flowers," the person wrote.
To which the seller replied: "Well that is rude.
"It's my nanna's flowers.
"I suggest you leave your thoughts to yourself because I find you rather offensive at a difficult time."
"How's it offensive?" the person retorted.
"Just not exactly what people want to see when shopping for clothes is it.
"I've reported you to Vinted."
"Reported me for what? My nanna dying?" the seller asked, incredulously.
"No, for going against Vinted terms and conditions," the person replied.
"You're not the only person who has dealt with grief just to let you know."
"You're the one who messaged me first," the seller then hit back.
"Can see by your reviews you are nothing but trouble."
After their back and forth, the person replied to tell the seller that they'd "blocked" her.
Images of the transcript were shared on TikTok by the DM Drama account, who said the seller had sent them in on Instagram.
And people quickly took to the comments section to have their say, with a fierce debate soon breaking out.
"I think it’s actually a good idea to help put people struggling to afford funeral flowers," one wrote.
"They’ve served their purpose, why not sell them on?"
"I agree," another said.
"We took our uncle's and placed them on our nan and gramps' grave after the funeral - otherwise they just get left behind".
"Don’t think people realise how expensive funeral flowers are," a third added.
"I think it’s down to personal choice," someone else said.
"They are beautiful but they are wasted when the funeral is over.
"I know people who take them home."
"My dad's flowers were £900… tbh its a waste of money," another wrote.
"If i could have got them second hand, I would have done."
"Why’s everyone so annoyed?" someone else said.
"If she wants to sell her Nanas flowers let her!!"
But not everyone agreed, with one writing: "Aren't they supposed to be left at graveside?
"Or at least donate to hospice or hospital - honestly!"
"Is anything sacred now?" another questioned.
"It’s beyond offensive," a third raged.
"To each their own, but I would donate them," someone else said.
