During Friday's episode, Marvin Humes delivered the news that the latest trial was themed around Christmas.

Josie was quick to volunteer, saying: "I’m going to do it. If you want me to do it, I’ll do it.”

Tony Bellew asked: “Are you going to be scared of anything that’s landed on you? Because right now we need stars?”

Josie replied: “I’m scared of all of it… but you feel like you need to win stars and maybe I’ve not got the minerals.”

Tony and Marvin then added that they both would be willing to do the trial before Josie said: "I feel like I need to prove myself a bit now.”

Nigel quickly jumped in and said: “Josie, you don’t need to. You’ve got to go into this saying I’m not frightened of whatever they’re going to throw at me. If you can’t say… then you shouldn’t do it, is my view.”

Josie replied: “I was saying I want to prove myself and you were going, ‘You shouldn’t do it, you shouldn’t do it.’”

Nigel said: “You’re proving yourself by being here.”

Facing Josie, Sam Thompson said: “Josie, if you want to do it, you do it.”

Josie said: “No, it’s alright. Let Nige do it, he wants the air time.”

Later, in the Bush Telegraph Josie told the camera: “I should have fought my corner a bit more but he wants the airtime because he wants to prove himself to the nation.”

Needless to say, viewers were also left seriously unimpressed with Nigel.

One fumed: "The way Nigel is gaslighting Josie and making her feel like cr*p about the trial. He has to do the trial and nobody else."

A second ranted: "Nice bit of gaslighting by Nigel there. #ImACeleb."

A third vented: "Nigel Farage is a bully! The way he spoke to Josie was shocking."
