It came as This Morning host Josie Gibson quizzed Farage on the smash.
She asked him: “What were you doing at the time when you were flying a plane, where were you going?”
He admitted: “Being an idiot, flying a banner.”
TV presenter Fred Sirieix, 51, then asked: “What was on the banner?”
To which Farage replied: “A Brexit message, obviously…”
Sirieix then quizzed: “What was the message?”
To which Farage said: “Vote for independence or something like that.”
He continued: “I don’t recall being unconscious, but I do recall the explosion, the plane flipping over, being stuck in there, everything broken… every rib front and back, split sternum, punctured lung… it was bad.”
Why did Nigel Farage's plane crash?
The two-seater light aircraft was pulling a Ukip campaign banner behind it.
An inquiry found the banner became entangled, causing the plane to nosedive.
What injuries did Nigel Farage sustain?
Both pilot Justin Adams and Farage had serious injuries in the smash and had to be taken to hospital.
The ex-Ukip leader was pulled bloodied from the wreckage suffering broken ribs and a punctured lung after the accident.
He also suffered two chipped vertebrae and a fractured sternum.
Ahead of stepping into camp, Farage revealed he would not be taking part in all the challenges.
He said he is unable to take part in most physical challenges such as any that are required to lift heavy weights.
Speaking about the situation, he said: "Anything involving weightlifting, I’d be out because I’ve obviously had some quite serious physical injuries and neck reconstructions and goodness knows what else.
"So they are fully aware that I’m a little bit damaged when it comes to bodily structure. But having said that, I can still do most things."
Farage said that he isn't fazed by the Bushtucker Trials and is planning to get on with it when he is voted for them.
He said: "Well, you know what? I'll just do my best. It's all I can do.
"I doubt that any of the trials are actually going to kill me, although I don't think they'll all be a bag of fun.
"But hey look, I signed up for this. It's in for a penny in for a pound. So let's go."
What happened to the pilot?
Mr Adams' mental health deteriorated so much following the smash that he threatened to kill both Nigel and the Civil Aviation authority investigator.
The pilot later sadly took his own life.
