The Traitors winner Harry suffers awkward exchange with ‘best pal’ Mollie as he defends lying to win £95k cash prize

The Traitors finalists Harry Clark and Mollie Pearce appeared to have an awkward exchange on BBC Breakfast in the aftermath of the finale.

Mollie, 21, and Harry, 23, were tight knit on the BBC gameshow of deception and subterfuge - with Mollie completely unaware 'best mate' Harry was secretly a Traitor whose aim was to take the 'faithful' players down.

The truth was finally revealed in Friday's nailbiting finale - when Harry walked away with all £95,150 money after Mollie opted to side with him over Jaz Singh in a final attempt to oust the saboteur.

Following the finale airing, the final trio appeared on BBC Breakfast to break down the antics.

And, after vowing on the show to never forgive him, Mollie was placed directly next to Harry as he spoke about his win.

"I didn't realise I could lie that well and sort of keep it up," he explained. "I think it proved to me like, the best thing about it, was I was sort of, had that strong mentality where it was [...] I just wanted to get the job done, and sort of putting connections and emotions behind [me]."

When Mollie was asked about how she felt in the final moment - where she was left alone to discover the truth about Harry being a traitor - she agreed with the presenter that even things down to his body language and looking her in the eye messed with her decision.

While Mollie looked uncomfortable, Harry tried to make light of the situation and joked: "I was gonna say don't stitch me up because I'm watching my back now, I'm getting further and further away from Mollie just in case she throws me over the balcony and changes her mind completely!"

He then continued to justify his act in the game and said: "At the end there I had to just give it my all - like it was sort of, I've got that far and lied for that long. So I might as well have kept up the act obviously, until the end."

Mollie had previously warned Harry she would 'never speak to him again' if he came out as a faithful, and was left swearing and storming off when he was revealed as a traitor in the finale.

Walking away with no money at all, it seems Harry is feeling guilt over how badly he duped his friend - and has even offered an olive branch to soften the blow in the form of a holiday.

The Traitors is available to stream in full now on BBC iPlayer.
