I’ve made £200 on Vinted & here’s my top five tips to sell fast – and you need to share your username around for a start
A WOMAN has revealed that she’s made almost £200 by selling her unwanted items on Vinted.
So if your wardrobe is full of old clothes you barely ever wear and you fancy making yourself some extra cash, you’ll need to listen up.
According to this savvy saver, named Lottie, the first step is to make sure you share your username around.
Not only this, but she also explained that you must ensure that your pictures are good quality too.
Sharing her advice on social media, Lottie filmed herself packaging up her Vinted parcels, as she said: “I've nearly made £200 in three weeks, so here's some Vinted tips.
“My first tip is make sure you share your username around. So comment your usernames in the comments below.”

To ensure buyers are interested in your products, the images you upload are key, as Lottie added: “Make sure your photos have good lighting - either natural light or a bright white light.”
Not only this, but Lottie explained that you must turn your bundle deals on, as this will encourage people to purchase more than just one item.
She continued: “Put your bundle deals on so people can save on postage.”
That’s not all, as Lottie stressed that communication is key if you want to sell, as she suggested: “Always have great communication with the buyers, ie telling measurements or when you’re gonna post.”
Finally, if you want to make cash quick, you’ll need to upload as many items as you can, as Lottie concluded: “Try and upload as much as you can because if you have the bundle deals on you're more than likely gonna sell a little bit more.”
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @cleanwithlottiiee, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed 249,500 views.
One person said: “I need to clear out my closet.”
Another added: “I’m selling a lot of stuff right now for £1!”
A third commented: “I have loads uploaded and I've got still 15 bags to go through.”
Meanwhile, someone else advised: “One of my tips is always package in a waterproof bag before placing it into a package bag, incase of couriers damaging your item whilst delivering, then left out in the rain for products to be ruined.”
But if you fancy clearing out your wardrobe and getting rid of your old stuff on Vinted, there are some things you’ll need to consider.
Customers selling their second-hand goods on the app should be aware of the new tax shake-up that recently came into play.
Since January 1, digital platforms, including eBay, Airbnb, Etsy, Amazon and Vinted, must share seller information with HMRC as part of a crackdown.
You're unlikely to be affected if you only sell a handful of second-hand items online each year - you'll only be affected if you sell a certain number of items or earn over a certain amount across one financial year.
Firms now have to pass on your data to HMRC if you sell 30 or more items a year or earn over £1,700.
It is part of a wider tax crackdown to help ensure that those who boost their income via side hustles pay up what they owe.

While your data won't be shared with HMRC if you earn between £1,000 and £1,700, you'll still need to pay tax as normal.
