VINTED users are fuming, after finding items listed as "vintage" on the side that are actually from cheap fast fashion websites like Shein and Temu.
One user found that a seller has listed an item on Vinted for more than twice the price she paid for it on Shein.
Taking to Reddit, she raged: "This is becoming a joke now.
"Just found this sellers account and literally ALL the items she’s selling are from shein/tiktok shop/temu/aliexpress for about 10 times the price!
"How people get away with being this scummy on this app astounds me."
Attached to the post was a picture of a Vinted listing, where the seller had advertised a red mesh cami top.

In the description of the listing, the seller had written things like "Y2K" and "vintage" to imply that the top was old.
However, the Reddit user had found the exact same top on the Shein website, for just £5.82.
The Vinted seller was flogging the top for £15, almost three times the price of what she paid for it.
Reddit users raced to the comments section of the post to share their annoyance.
One person said: "i found the seller’s review for the item on Shein lol".
Replying to this, the original Reddit poster said: "No way, the audacity of these scammers is unbelievable".
The commenter then replied: "I’m so tempted to offer her the actual price of the top and when she says no I want to send her review pics and say “but you paid £5?”
Another person said: "Vinted needs to crack down on this before they meet the same fate as Depop".
A third added: "And they also say they cut the tags out because they were uncomfortable and they don't know what brand it is, but if you do a reverse image search it's Shein".
A fourth person said: "That's why I almost never buy something unbranded unless it actually does look vintage or strong material.
What is Shein and is it legit?
Shein is an online-only fast-fashion retailer, based out of China, that has become a number one shopping destination for many around the world.
The company was valued at $66billion in 2023, dwarfing that of popular high street brands Zara and H&M.
The fashion retailer was founded in late 2008, by entrepreneur and marketing specialist Xu Yangtian, also known as Chris Xu.
Shein is a legitimate selling website and is not a phishing scam.
But you may receive a disappointing order or run into shipping issues if you order from the site, according to reviews.
There have been swathes of quality complaints, which makes sense when looking at the price tag.
"These girlies change their Shein wardrobe every few months and are trying to make it our problem".
A fifth said: "I’ve seen a lot for £30 plus too! Or even dresses / sets for over 100 that are claimed to be handmade are but from Shein.
