Coronation Street fans demand legendary character returns to soap with baby ‘to spice things up’
CORONATION Street fans have demanded the return of a legendary character.
Alina Pop was played by actress Ruxandra Porojnicu and she had two stints on the soap.
The character initially came to the UK from Romania in 2019 as part of a storyline involving a human trafficking ring between April and August that year.
She later returned in February 2020 where she became romantically involved with the much-older Tyrone Dobbs (played by Alan Halsall) before departing in September 2021.
But viewers of the long-running serial drama took to X - formerly known as Twitter to express a desire for the character to return.
They want Alina to reappear in Coronation Street, complete with a baby, as the show seemingly needs 'to spice things up.'

One fan exclaimed: "It’s 2024 and I’m still hoping for Alina’s return with Tyrone Jr. #Corrie."
A second user thought: "I think it's about time for Alina to pop back up with baby Tyrone Jr."
"I wouldn’t be surprised if she reappears one day with baby in tow. #Corrie," echoed a third.
As a fourth viewer exclaimed: "Think #Corrie tried to make Tyrone and Fizz the modern Jack and Vera. Never warmed to Fizz and you don’t miss her when she’s out of the series."
They added: "Need Alina Pop back with baby Tyrone to spice things up."
On Coronation Street, Alina was fell pregnant but she lost the baby after Hope started a fire at their flat.
To initially stay with her after their affair, Tyrone ended a nine-year relationship with Fiz Stape (played by Jennie McAlpine).
But after the fire incident, Alina left Tyrone and moved back to Romania, which meant he could reconcile with Fiz and re-marry her at Christmas in 2022.
