Omid Scobie’s book is full of petty falsehoods – all I see is a King working tirelessly

WHEN King Charles delivered the opening address at the COP28 World Climate Action Summit he will have been thinking about helping to save the planet.

When Omid Scobie released his latest book about the Royal Family he was thinking about making money.

Charles cares about the environment and has been talking about the dangers of climate change for over three decades.

I’ve been to the Amazon rainforest three times with him, where he has pleaded with presidents to stop tearing up this precious resource.

But rather than writing about these important issues in his book, Scobie has focused on petty falsehoods.

As a result it has gone from one disaster to another.

I have not read one positive review of it so far.

The debacle in Holland is where some sloppy translation has named the people who supposedly asked about the colour of Harry and Meghan’s son Archie’s skin.

That’s happened despite Harry and Meghan swearing they would never reveal the name.

How did this possibly slip out?

How did it ever reach publication anywhere?

The decision of the publishers to pulp all the copies in Holland is the right one.

I hope they do it everywhere.

What Scobie has written about Royal Family members, isn’t anything I recognise from working with them over the past few decades.

His claims that Catherine just stands and grins at royal events couldn’t be further from the truth — she puts her heart and soul into every visit.

All I see is our King working tirelessly for the nation and the world at 75.

He won’t dignify Scobie’s tawdry publication with a response in any possible way.

Instead Charles will focus minds on stopping the world burning up.
