On February 19, Cat shared a clip of her reacting to another creator doing a cover of her song, Dance You Outta My Head.

"Cat Janice asked me to sing a moody version of her song," said Sarah Cothran, a TikToker with 3.3 million followers.

All of the proceeds from Cat's song are going to her 7-year-old son, said Cothran.

Cat somberly mouthed along to the lyrics as she watched Cothran's video with tubes in her nose.

"I've been stuck slowly passing, unable to move, cannot use my legs, trapped in this near lifeless body," read the caption of Cat's video.

"Cancer is no joke and never plays nice. But this beautiful moment helps me remember that soon I'll be flying through the heavens, soaring through the next dimension, dancing with God and my Nonnie.

"I’ll finally be free and boy am I gonna dance. My baby boy will be having all these wonderful memories as well thanks to you all."

Cat was nearly brought to tears as she watched Cothran sing.

The video had more than 10 million views at the time of writing and more than 21,000 comments.

"Your son will forever be grateful for what his momma did for him before passing," wrote one person. "Rest in peace."

"May the next lifetime bring you peace beautiful girl," wrote another person. "Sending you and your family love."

A third person wrote: "Cat, you've fought so greatly. I am deeply proud of you. I hope to meet you one day in our next lives. I will cherish you forever regardless of what happens. Much love."

'ENTERED THE LIGHT'

Cat's family confirmed that the star had died on Wednesday in a heartfelt post on her Instagram.

"This morning, from her childhood home and surrounded by her loving family, Catherine peacefully entered the light and love of her heavenly creator." read the post.

"We are eternally thankful for the outpouring of love that Catherine and our family have received over the past few months."

The family continued, "Cat saw her music go places she never expected and rests in the peace of knowing that she will continue to provide for her son through her music.

"This would not have been possible without all of you."

Cat, who was born Catherine Janice Ipsan, is survived by her son, Loren, who is the main inspiration for her success.

She married Kyle Higginbotham, her longtime partner and a fellow musician who performs under the name Footwerk.

Cat explained her cancer diagnosis in a video on November 11, 2022, saying she felt a lump on her neck in November 2021 but "didn't think anything of it" at first.

By March 2022, the lump was still there and had grown in size and become "very hard."

She also experienced "really bad knots" in the back of her shoulder, which was caused by a tumor in her scalene muscle.

"Long story short, I ended up with this really random, weird, rare tumor. There's only like 10 of them ever recorded in the world," Cat said.

Cat was diagnosed with sarcoma, "a rare malignant tumor" and went through surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation, reported People.

She said in a clip that she was cancer-free in July 2022, however, the cancer came back in June 2023 and was in her lungs.

"I'm gonna go back into treatment, and I'm going to be really effing strong about it, and I'm gonna let you guys know what's going on, and thank you so much for loving me," Cat said at the time.
