I’m a male primary school teacher and it’s a nightmare – we’re always ‘dating’ other teachers, but we get our own loo

BEING a teacher is tough at the best of times, but one primary school teacher has shared some of the problems that are reserved for male members of staff.

The teacher, who goes by Mr Chuntz on social media, revealed some of the annoying little things that bother him about school life.

One of the main issues for the educator is not being able to chat to female teachers without people thinking there is something else going on between them.

"We can't talk to a female teacher without other co-workers or students thinking we're dating," he said.

In fact, it's not just female teachers Mr Chuntz said he can't have an innocent conversation with, students try to set him up with their mums all the time too.

And being one of the few male teachers means he gets roped into being "everybody's work husband."

When he's not acting as their work hubby the female teachers love to rant about their partners to Mr Chuntz too, but he said he knows better than to dish out any advice - he's outnumbered after all.

We basically have our own private bathroom because there's so few of us."

"We're gonna listen to you complain about your significant other, give zero advice, and just agree with you," he said.

Despite actually being a maths teacher, Mr Chuntz said people always assume he's a PE teacher instead.

Then there are the usual things that come with being one of the few men in the building, like helping out with hanging display boards and other quick DIY jobs around the school.

But there are benefits to being the only man in a female dominated workplace, he continued.

One of the upsides is other teachers bringing in leftover grub for you.

I'm a teacher and a parent told me off for mispronouncing their kid's unique name - the punctuation wasn't silent

"Our co-workers bring us all the leftover food from their family parties because we're growing boys," he joked.

And the toilet situation isn't too shabby either when most of the other teachers are female.

"We basically have our own private bathroom because there's so few of us," he said.

And despite his masculine look, the teacher said he still knows who all the Disney princesses are and has "the most fun" in his job.

After sharing the tongue and cheek video on TikTok other teachers chimed in to share their experience.

"My more teacher co-worker knew more than any man should about menopause and childbirth," one wrote.

"Finally I feel seen! I'd talk about these things with my male co-workers, but I don't have any," another said.

And a third commented: "I was a single male school teacher and let me tell you the dates I got set up on!"
