Why you need to check the postage settings on your Vinted account and how to make even more money on your sales

A WOMAN has revealed that if you are selling your old clothes and unwanted items on Vinted, you’ll need to check your postage settings on the app.

Anna, who is known online as ‘The Anna Edit’, is a fashion and beauty fan who regularly makes cash through the online marketplace.

And now, luckily for those looking to do the same, Anna has shared the tips and tricks that she swears by.

Posting her advice on social media, the young woman said: “My tops for selling your clothing online. Whether it’s Vinted, Depop or Vestiaire Collective - here’s my best advice from someone who has sold A LOT over the years!”

She then explained: “Here are my top tips for selling your clothing online. First up you’re going to want to clean it. De-bobble, mend, dry clean if needed.

“It’s just nice to sell things that have been given a bit of TLC.”

When it comes to taking pictures, Anna advised: “When you’re taking pictures, it definitely doesn’t need to be fancy. But it is nice to use a clean background - a clean floor, rug, bedsheet, that kind of thing.

“Hang the item on a door if needed, it just needs to be clear.

“Make sure you’re taking photos from multiple angles - if you’re selling something that has wear and tear, take photos of those too. Sole of shoes, corners of the handbag, that kind of thing.”

The savvy seller also claimed that she will package items, even before they have sold, as she shared: “At this point, I like to package items up appropriately so that when it sells, I can send it out ASAP.”

Anna then explained the information you should include in descriptions when posting items on Vinted, as she added: “Whatever platform you decide to sell on, this is your description template.”

According to Anna’s template for selling clothes online, it’s a good idea to include the item name, the size and any sizing details, the fabric composition, details of any wear and tear, the RRP and then an item description if you can find it online.

Following this, the brunette beauty shared her final tip - as she encouraged sellers to check their postage settings.

She concluded: “Final tip if you’re selling on Vinted. Go to the postage section on your account settings and you can actually select what postage type you want to have available.

“For me, personally, InPost - pain in the bum. So I make sure that you can only use EVRi if you buy from my Vinted and it just makes the whole thing so much easier.”

The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @theannaedit, has clearly impressed many, as it has quickly amassed 51,300 views.

Social media users were thankful for Anna’s advice and took to the comments to express this.

One person said: “I had no idea you could change postage settings! Thank you! Saves me having to go to three different places to post now.”

Whilst another added: “Oh, photos on a rug is such a good idea! I’m always looking for places to hang things that won’t look cluttered, so I’m trying this next!”

But if you fancy clearing out your wardrobe and getting rid of your old stuff on Vinted, you’ll need to consider the new tax shake-up that recently came into play.

Since January 1, digital platforms, including eBay, Airbnb, Etsy, Amazon and Vinted, must share seller information with HMRC as part of a crackdown.

You're unlikely to be affected if you only sell a handful of second-hand items online each year - but firms now have to pass on your data to HMRC if you sell 30 or more items a year or earn over £1,700.

It is part of a wider tax crackdown to help ensure that those who boost their income via side hustles pay up what they owe.

While your data won't be shared with HMRC if you earn between £1,000 and £1,700, you'll still need to pay tax as normal.
