Gethin Jones says he’ll do Comic Relief challenge in his PANTS – after being inspired by David Beckham

GETHIN Jones has joked that he will do his Comic Relief challenge in his pants after being inspired by David Beckham.

The hunky Morning Live presenter, 46, is taking part in a 24-hour roller-skating endurance test alongside co-star Helen Skelton to raise funds for Comic Relief.

Asked what would help Helen keep going when things got tough, Gethin joked: “David Beckham from his new advert.”

He continued: “Can we just talk them – how amazing is he looking?”

Helen teasingly said his toned body was down to roller skating and Gethin replied: “I'm on it.

“My God, buy me some pants now as motivation.”

Helen appeared rather taken with the prospect, but Gethin begged: “Don't give Helen ideas.”

The prospect of the challenge is however rather daunting for the pair.

Gethin admitted: “I've never roller-skated before so I’m nervous about my ability to stand up on skates, let alone move around on them. But I’ll give it all I’ve got  and do everything I can to train and get ready because I’m determined to raise as much money as possible.

“I love Red Nose Day and Comic Relief and everything which the money raised does for people going through the toughest times of their lives in the UK and around the world.

“Every day on Morning Live, we talk and hear about how much people are struggling right now. It’s never felt more important to throw everything into trying to help and raise as much as we can for those who need it most. And have some fun along the way too. Well, maybe for the first hour.”

The challenge will begin during BBC Morning Live on the morning of Thursday 20th March and continue throughout the day and night, finishing during Friday’s Morning Live on Friday 21st March on Red Nose Day.
