Stu Carpenter’s plot to buy granddaughter Eliza from her dad backfires in Coronation Street
DOM Everett couldn't resist Stu Carpenter's offer when he suggested paying him off to stay away from Eliza Woodrow.
Unfortunately for the Coronation Street favourite, his entire plan backfires on him as his granddaughter struggles.
The Speed Daal chef and former homeless man played by Bill Fellows has been desperate to be a part of his granddaughter Eliza's life ever since he first met her last year.
As regular ITV viewers will remember, Stu took the young girl in after her mother Bridget was thrown behind bars for the murder of Charlie Walters.
However, Eliza (Savannah Kunyo) soon became curious about her father Dom Everett (Darren Morfitt) and she even managed to track him down online.
The pair rekindled their father-daughter relationship but Stu was devastated when Eliza made it clear she wanted to live with Dom.

Unwilling to let go of his granddaughter, Stu figured out Dom would always be lured in with cash and he offered to pay him off as long as he stayed away from Eliza.
Coming up, Dom keeps to his end of the bargain and Eliza is met with complete silence from him.
Clearly hurt, Eliza is in the café and puts in her earpods, refusing to engage with anybody.
Yasmeen and Alya Nazir (respectively portrayed by Shelley King and Sair Khan) are worried for her, knowing how upset she was when Dom failed to turn up for Christmas.
Meanwhile, Stu feels wretched as he knows his own actions led to Eliza being unhappy.
In later scenes, Stu calls Dom and leaves a message for him telling him that Eliza is very upset and he fears he made a mistake.
Stu is overwhelmed with guilt and he finally decides to admit to Yasmeen that it’s his fault Dom did a disappearing act as he paid him £10k to stay away from Eliza.
He justifies his actions by claiming he thought it was in Eliza's best interests and now Dom won't come back.
Yasmeen is horrified beyond belief as she went through hell and back with the late Geoff Metcalfe, who severely mentally abused her and even slept with multiple escorts, putting her health in danger as he contracted an STI.
In later scenes, Yasmeen turns to Roy Cropper (David Neilson) to vent about Stu’s duplicitous behaviour.
A deflated Yasmeen reveals that, yet again, she’s fallen for a man who does nothing but lie to her.

Later on, Stu tells Yasmeen and Alya that he doesn’t want Eliza blaming herself for her father’s disappearance.
This prompts him to decide that it'll be best for her if he tells her the truth.
However, Yasmeen clearly has a change of heart as she tells Stu that it would actually be best if he doesn’t confess all to Eliza.
Yasmeen reminds Stu that he is the only family she has and she’d be terribly hurt by his deception.
