My mum’s hair was so thin and patchy – until I fixed it with a £1 buy you probably have in the back of your cupboard
A WOMAN has revealed how she transformed her mum's thinning hair with a simple £1 hack.
The woman, known merely as @ricewatergirl on TikTok, revealed that she had made her mum's hair look so much thicker and healthier using something you probably have in the back of your cupboard.
"I tried my thinning hair rice water method on my mum's hair for six months", she revealed in a video.
Sharing a picture of what her mum's hair looked like previously, the content creator revealed that it was thin and very short.
She then shared a picture of what it looked like three months later, and it was so much thicker and longer.
After six months, her mum's hair had basically tripled in thickness and length.

"Unbelievable results, I'm so proud of this rice water mixture I made", she said.
The TikTok user revealed that you only need to use the rice water once every three weeks to get results.
To make rice water, simply take one cup of rice, and rinse it in water.
Then, add two cups of water to the mixture, and let it ferment, by leaving it to sit in the fridge for 24 hours.
Fermented rice has a strong odour, so you can add essential oils or citrus fruit peels to the mixture to make it smell better.
To use the mixture, pour it onto your scalp and massage it in.
Leave it to rest for 30 minutes, and then wash it off.
This method is super cheap, as you can buy a bag of rice from the supermarket for around £1.
Studies have found that inositol, an ingredient in rice water, can help to repair damaged hair from the inside out.
The TikTok video has likely left many impressed as it has racked up an impressive 17.8 million views.
