I’ve found the perfect ‘old money’ cardigan from Uniqlo – it’s only £35 and a dupe of Chanel’s iconic knitted jacket

CHANEL is an iconic designer brand, and whilst many of us may dream of owning a piece from the luxury label, affordable dupes are a more purse-friendly option.

Luckily for fashion fans, we've found a Chanel cardigan lookalike from a high-street fave.

Uniqlo has had a moment with its popular cross-body bags, thermals and impressive knitwear collection, but now it's their "old money" cardigan, which has our heads in a spin.

Uniqlo's Knitted Short Jacket is a very similar-looking design to the Chanel Boucle short jacket but comes with a healthier price tag of £34.90.

Chanel Jackets, which resemble a cardigan style with the box fit, boucle or tweed texture, round neck, and button front fastening, can fetch over £4,000 - which means Uniqlo's alternative could save you thousands of pounds.

The Knitted Short Jacket is a trendy wardrobe staple suited for all occasions and styles, while also providing an extra layer of warmth this winter.

The design is more relaxed than Chanel's design, due to the cotton blend fabric, which holds its shape without being rigid.

The Uniqlo creation is a collarless design and features a round neck, a textured knitted body, as well a chunky button front fastening.

It comes in five colours, including off-white, black, cream and navy stripe, as well as candy pink and green, though the latter has sold out due to popular demand.

Uniqlo has offered a variety of sizes in this style, which range from extra extra small to extra extra large.

The cardigan is super versatile as you can style it with jeans and a plain t-shirt, layer over a dress, partner with a skirt, or even layer a ruffle neck blouse or shirt underneath for an extra preppy aesthetic - coincidentally very Chanel.

It works for any occasion, whether you're wearing it to the office, for weekend brunch, or for a cosy weekend pub lunch.

Shoppers are beyond impressed with this stylish, and affordable, design, with some hailing it as "noble" and fitting with the "old money" trend.
