News helicopter crash kills two in New Jersey

A news helicopter has crashed in New Jersey, killing the pilot and photographer on board.

The two crew members were on assignment for channel 6abc when the helicopter went down on Tuesday evening, the Philadelphia station WPVI-TV reported.

In an article posted on its website, the channel said it was "a devastating day for the Action News team".

It said the victims had a "long history" with the station and had worked as part of the news team for years.

The station did not release their names while family members were being notified.

The cause of the crash is currently unclear.

The Chopper 6 helicopter is reported to have crashed around 8pm local time in Burlington County's Washington Township.
