We bought the house nobody wanted – it was the worst property on the street & we turned it into a dream home on a budget
A COUPLE have revealed that they bought the house nobody wanted and have since turned it into their dream home.
Eight years ago, Katherine and her partner bought an Edwardian home, which at the time, they described as the ‘worst house on the street’.
But the interior design and DIY fans got to work and gave the rundown home an impressive renovation on a budget.
Katherine took to social media to show off the home’s glow up, leaving many totally stunned.
Posting online, Katherine penned: “Our house was definitely the worst on the street when we bought it eight years ago.
“We’ve done as much of the work as we can ourselves to save money.

“If you’re mid reno - keep going as it’s so worth it.”
Katherine then shared a before and after look at the home.
Prior to the home’s overhaul, the space was very run down and dated, and was in desperate need of some TLC.
With brown cupboards, doorways and bannisters, some modernisation was certainly needed.
Not only this, but the carpet and wallpaper was looking a bit worse for wear.
Katherine then wrote: “After lots of hard work…we now have our dream home.”
The DIY fan and savvy saver shared a close-up look at the home’s new look, with the outside, as well as the inside being given a total transformation.
The home’s old awkward front entrance had been replaced and was given a stunning, welcoming new feel.
The old carpet had been replaced with chic wooden flooring, and the bannisters were painted black.
The living room and bedrooms were panelled and decorated with chic, on trend furniture.
Not only this, but the once very dark kitchen had been given a total freshen up, with trendy navy cupboards and a feature light.
It’s safe to say, Katherine’s new home looks incredible, and is something you’d expect to find in an interiors magazine.
Katherine later shared: “It’s hard going but so worth it in the end.”
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @edwardian_vignette, has clearly left many stunned, as it has quickly amassed 25,000 views.
Social media users were open-mouthed at the home’s renovation and were eager to express this in the comments.
One person said: “Beautiful! Great job, you brought that house back to life.”
Another added: “Love it.”
A third commented: “Wow!”
