BBC Breakfast in hosting shake-up as Jon Kay misses show for surprising side hustle
BBC BREAKFAST has been caught up in a fresh hosting shake-up as Jon Kay missed the show.
The beloved presenter, 54, typically hosts alongside Sally Nugent on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
However, when Beeb viewers tuned in this morning Jon and his sleek quiff were nowhere to be seen.
Instead his BBC News colleague Ben Thompson joined Sally, 52, on the iconic red sofa.
Last night Jon had revealed a new side hustle with the BBC as he becomes a judge.
He was joined by Francesca Simon, Charlie Higson, Frank Cottrell-Boyce, Sir Lenny Henry and Malorie Blackman for the new gig.

All stars were tasked with judging the BBC's 500 Words Competition that sees thousands of children across the UK write and submit their short stories.
The final of the competition takes place in Buckingham Palace next month after getting the seal of approval from Her Majesty The Queen.
Posting on social media, Jon said: "A very special afternoon in London chairing the judging panel for this year’s #bbc500words competition.
"An absolute honour to help facilitate the deliberations of our best-selling author-judges: Francesca Simon, Charlie Higson, Frank Cottrell-Boyce, Sir Lenny Henry and Malorie Blackman. What a line-up.
"The children’s entries they had to choose from were EPIC. We have so many talented young writers in the UK. Mind-blowing.
"We received tens of thousands of entries. Find out the winners in some spectacular BBC programmes next month for #WorldBookDay."
Jon's absence from BBC Breakfast comes as Naga Munchetty mysteriously remains off air without explanation.
