“The steam releases the essential oil from the plant.”

As well as this, Elnaz then explained that to remove nasty smells from your toilet, add white vinegar to the tank.
She added: “To get rid of bad odour in the toilet, just add one cup of white vinegar to the tank.”
If you haven't got any white vinegar in your cupboards, you'll be pleased to know that you can nab a bottle for just 40p from Sainsbury's.
Binning it
If your bin smells bad, you’ll need to get yourself some essential oil.
Elnaz recommended: “Just add some essential oil to the cotton ball and leave it on the bottom of the trash can.”
Step on it
As many of us get out of the shower and tread onto our bath mat, you may have noticed yours kicking up a grim smell.
If that’s the case, Elnaz advised: “To avoid musty smells from a bath mat, invest in a stone mat.
“They are quick to dry and easy to clean.”
Makes scents
Finally, rather than wasting money on an expensive room spray, Elnaz has shared how to make your own on the cheap.
She concluded: “Make DIY air freshener. You need three tablespoons of baking soda, 10 drops of essential oil, one tablespoon of baby oil, and you need about one tablespoon of cloves.
“Mix well, transfer to a cute bowl and leave it in your bathroom.
“And don't forget to save these tips!”
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @elnazhamai, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed 721,900 views.
Social media users were thankful for the advice and were keen to express this in the comments.
One person said: “I like this, gonna try.”
Another added: “These are fantastic hacks. I used some of your tips and already observed the improvements.”
A third commented: “Will try this.”
Whilst someone else shared: “Love these ideas!”
Meanwhile, another user penned: “Finally someone who’s not pouring detergent/softener into their toilet water.”
At the same time, one cleaning enthusiast questioned: “Will the vinegar go away when you flush the toilet?”
