I used to hate my chest hair and shaved it when I wore a bikini – now I leave it as God intended, I’m unique and proud
A CONFIDENT woman used to be ashamed of her body hair but now embraces it as she says God intended.
She revealed that she used to shave it off when she wore swimsuits, but now she shows it off for all the world to see.
Artist and self-love advocate Esie (@queen_esie) is transparent about the realities of being a woman with mass amounts of hair on her body.
In a TikTok video, she showed four before and after images of her physique while wearing a swimsuit in both 2018 and 2022.
She was honest about her prior insecurities in the caption and detailed how she struggled with accepting how she naturally looked in the past.
There were two professional photos of her lounging poolside during a 2018 bikini photoshoot for a brand.
The body hair advocate was visibly hairless, which was a vast contrast to what she looks like today.
Some of the measures she would take back then to feel more comfortable with her body while modeling was to shave all of it off.
As a result of all the shaving, she developed dark scars that are visible in the 2018 images.
"I asked if I could wear one of the bathing suits that hid my chest area because I was incredibly insecure about all the bumps and scars from ingrown hair," she detailed.
In 2019, she decided to embrace her hairiness because she no longer wanted to feel ashamed of herself.
"I HATED being hairy and having to waste so much time having to remove my body hair," she added.
Esie also showed images of herself in 2022 that she took while enjoying herself at the beach on vacation.
Her chest hair is bold and overgrown, while more thick patches are around her inner thigh area and down her legs.
"Fast forward to 2022, I challenged myself to go as I am to the beach for the first time. Hair on almost every inch of my body as God intended it. I felt proud and FREE!" she explained.
She looked visibly more confident as she posed in a cheetah print two-piece swim set.
As beauty standards consistently grow and change, Esie mentioned in the caption that she is grateful that she now gets to choose to "Redefine Beauty" for herself.
The body confident woman also admitted in the caption that when she was consistently shaving she never swam in the water and now years later she enjoys it.
Viewers praised her in the caption for her vulnerability and positive message.
One commented: "A woman not answering to any standard, any opinion, any trend, any influencer - authentic, individual, confident. THAT IS TRUE BEAUTY!"
"It would be so good if people could accept and be happy with what is natural. Total love and respect for you," another added.
"You're making it so much easier for all of us to do the same. We appreciate it, and we thank you," a fan chimed in.
